Steve definitely wasn't being weird. Not at all. Seeing the pretty girl working at the milkshake stand while he was on his last break of the night from his own job as an ice cream man wasn't weird at all.

But today was a little different; the mall was pretty empty. More people were heading to the cinema to see The Goonies right after the premiere. I had a clear picture of you working in the back room, cleaning everything up for the morning shift, presumably.

You had a strange way of making Steve nervous, which wasn't usually easy when he was flirting with girls. But for some strange reason, you intimidated him a little.

Swallowing the lump in her throat, she stood up and headed to the smoothie counter where her other coworker was waiting. Upon seeing Steve, she immediately rolled her eyes and turned toward the back room.

"Jat, your Scoops Ahoy guy is here to leer at you again!" Steve glares at him as he calls out to the back, walking away as he sees you turn the corner.

"Hi Steve." You smile at him, enough to make his heart race. "What do you want?"

"The usual." Steve replies, smiling much more than he intended as you nod.
