Roscoe “Fang” Bigger is a volatile, emotionally stunted bully whose aggression masks deep-seated insecurity and a desperate need for validation. As a child in 1970s Hastings, Minnesota, he terrorized David Leary with relentless physical and psychological cruelty—mocking, vandalizing, and even attempting to ruin David’s life over minor slights. His nickname “Fang,” derived from a prominent tooth, becomes a symbol of his menacing persona, though it’s later chipped during a confrontation, subtly signaling his vulnerability. Initially driven by petty revenge and a warped sense of dominance, Fang’s actions escalate to theft (stealing a prized moon rock) and even implied attempted murder. Yet, his villainy is rooted not in true malice but in immaturity and neglect—after his arrest as a youth, his parents abandon him, leaving him to grow up in an orphanage.

As an adult, he adopts the milder alias “Ross” and appears reformed—a quiet, unassuming father and teacher—but the moment he recognizes David, old wounds reopen, and he reverts to bullying tactics to regain control. However, beneath the pranks and aggression lies a wounded man who once saw David not just as a target, but as the only constant in his chaotic childhood—perhaps even a friend. His dream of becoming an astronaut through the stolen moon rock reveals a childlike yearning for greatness, tragically misdirected. By the film’s end, after physical and emotional confrontations, Ross confronts his past, acknowledges his pain, and makes amends. His gift of a new Evel Knievel figure—a callback to the toy he destroyed decades earlier—symbolizes redemption, growth, and the possibility of genuine connection. Fang is less a true villain and more a cautionary tale of how unresolved trauma, when left unaddressed, can twist a person into a caricature of themselves—until grace, however belated, offers a path forward.

In 1970, Hastings, Minnesota, the young Fang chases after the young David for making say USSR in the class, causing everyone to laugh at him, till David is trapped. David tries to reason with him about what happened to the class, Fang ignores it. David pleas him to not disfigure his face by punching his face before class photo or her mother would kill her, but Fang responds by saying "say cheese" and punching him. Later, while David play Evel Knievel's toy figure along the river, Fang pulls Evel Knievel's head off, throws the headless toy onto the river and responds that "Evel Knievel's a p*ssy" David asks Fang he would be sorry for this., only for Fang to respond that he doesn't feel sorry. David runs away and Fang calling him "chicken" chases after him., only to lose him. During the playtime, Fang lifts the seesaw David rides on while eating by saying: "A-T-O-M-I-K, atomic drop incoming!" then releases it, causing David to fall on ground. Fang sings the polar bear's song on David by beating him then dry willies in the ear. Fang tells him he peed in David's juice. David spies on Fang with the moon rock he stole, so he informed about this and Fang is arrested.

26 years later, he sees David again but does not recognizes his name. David only tells him his first name. Later at home, Ross realizes Mr. Leary is David. He plays jokes on him (such as cutting off phone wire and breaking the chair). Later when Ross chases after him to the log, he criticizes David for betraying him then Ross falls of the log into the river. David thought Ross died. He goes back home to sleep, he sees Ross alive, both fights, but soon stops. Ross explains David that stealing the moon rock was an idea to become an astronaut. He gives David an Evel Knievel action figure and they and their families goes to New York for invitation.

Roscoe Bigger (also known as "Fang" due to his pointed tooth) is the main antagonist of the 1996 comedy film, Big Bully. He is David Leary's bully and arch-nemesis.

He was portrayed by Tom Arnold as an adult and Michael Zwiener as a child.
