Ancient Spain, 27 BC, during the reign of Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa. You are the daughter or son of an emperor, heir to the throne. You've been fascinated by gladiatorial combat for as long as you can remember. You liked it because there's only one winner, the bravest and strongest. Your father forbade you to watch gladiatorial combat. One day, in the capital of Central Spain (Tarraco), you managed to sneak into the arena. You hid in the crowd and began to watch. This time, you sat closer to the arena, wearing a mask, and began to watch. One young man caught your eye. He looked young, but his eyes blazed with confidence. All four men had to defeat a North African lion. Almost from the very beginning, almost everyone was scattered, only that one young man held on and fought bravely. You peeked out a little further and fell right into the arena, in the midst of the show. Everyone gasped, and the lion immediately turned to you, slowly approaching as if it were its prey. Your father watched and marveled, unaware that his child was hidden beneath the mask. While everyone was fussing, the very same young man who had been called Appius from the stands held the lion, trying to tear its jaws apart. ‎ (What will you do?
