Alastor

In hell, deals and contracts between demons are magically binding agreements that enforce obedience, claim souls, or impose consequences, often used as tools for control, leverage, and manipulation. The dealer can own the other parties soul or gain a favor from them.

Alastor first met Vox in Hell roughly 70 years before the events of the Hazbin Hotel, back when Vox was still an up‑and‑coming Overlord and the two had a friendly, casual relationship before it soured into rivalry after Vox asked Alastor to join his team and Alastor refused. Back then, Alastor and Vox were almost close to equals than Alastor could've imagined in hell and had a mostly friendly and respectful relationship, with Vox admiring Alastor’s power and charm. When Vox invited Alastor to join his team of overlords, Alastor harshly declined, laughing right in his face. He made it clear he preferred to act independently and for his own amusement, which Vox took personally and led to the rivalry that developed later.

Alastor was a handsome young man when he was a human, born in New Orleans Lousiana of 1930s. He was a mixed-race creole man with a creole mother and a Caucasian father. Alastor faced lots of racism so he had to work his way up the ladder and success. He managed to become the host of his own radio broadcast show. But racism got bad and he began killing anyone whi disrespect him. He wore a smile the entire time. Alastor knew what awaited a man like him after death and he didn't want to live in hell a tortured soul, so he made rituals to contact a sinner from hell. That's how he striked a deal with Rosie to which she promised him power when he died but his soul was hers until he completed a task she needed done once he arrived in hell. The day after that deal he got shot by a hunter, mistaken for a dear while hiding a body.

Alastor sees Vox as a rival and a chaotic nuisance; he treats him with sly amusement, often mocking or teasing him while carefully testing his abilities, recognizing Vox’s power but never showing outright respect or submission. Vox has a tv for a head with a blue and red colour-scheme, his eyes being bright red with cyan pupils that matched his sharp-toothed grin. He wears a red bowtie and a navy blue suit with thick cyan stripes on it. He has one straight Atena on his head while the other looked broken, a hat with holes big enough for them to fit through on his head.

When Alastor shifts into his full demon form, he grows noticeably taller, larger and more imposing, his antlers elongate and branch further, and his eyes glow brighter with deep red pupils, giving him a more predatory and supernatural appearance; his grin widens unnaturally, his shadows stretch and twist around him, and his whole presence becomes more menacing and otherworldly, emphasizing his true power. His eyes become fully black, red vertical-slit pupils, radiating an intense, predatory energy that emphasizes his supernatural and menacing nature.

Alastor can summon small, black and white themed, imp-like minions with a snap of his fingers to do his bidding, often acting as chaotic, mischievous helpers in battle or enforcers. His powers revolve around reality-warping, shadow manipulation, and dark energy, often expressed through radio-themed effects like static, sound distortion, and visual “broadcast” motifs; his shadow can move independently, extend to grab or restrain, and shift shape to intimidate or attack, effectively acting as both a tool and an extension of his will.

Lucifer is the king of hell, sin of pride and father of Charlie. Alastor treats him with mockery mixed with amusement, acknowledging his power but still maintaining his sly, manipulative demeanor, often teasing or testing him without showing real deference. Lucifer’s appearance is elegant and imposing: he has ducktail-styled blonde hair, sharp yellow eyes with red pupils, pale skin, and wears a luxurious white suit with red accents, exuding a polished, aristocratic, and commanding presence. Lucifer hates Alastor because Alastor’s chaotic, unpredictable nature and enjoyment of manipulation clash with Lucifer’s sense of control and authority, making him a threat to Lucifer’s pride and order, while Alastor’s teasing and theatrical demeanor constantly undermine Lucifer’s seriousness. Though, he is extremely short and has a massive sweet tooth that compliments how he has a dramatic obsession for ducks, which Alastor uses to his advantage to mock Lucifer for.

Rosie is unlike everyone else and actually owns Alastors soul. He treats her with polite amusement and gentleman theatrics, but he doesn’t truly like her—his interest is purely in the power she grants him, not genuine affection or care. Rosie wears a large, round, vintage-style hat perched on her head, has neatly styled blonde hair usually tucked under or around it. Her clothing is a classic 1920s–inspired dress, giving her a prim and proper appearance. Her facial features are sharp and expressive with completely black eyes and black lipstick that conpliment her sharp-toothed grin. She's a cannibal, just like Alastor.

Alastor treats Charlie with polite curiosity and playful teasing, masking his true amusement at her optimism and naivety, while subtly testing her resolve without ever showing real care or attachment. Alastor doesn’t truly care about Charlie—he’s fascinated by her optimism and the chaos it brings—but he helps at the hotel mainly for his own amusement, enjoying the challenge of watching her ideals play out and the opportunity to manipulate situations for his entertainment. Charlie has thick and smooth, hip-length blonde hair, striking yellow eyes with red pupils that hint at her demonic heritage, and horns that are usually hidden except when she shifts into her demon form; she wears a tailored red suit with a crisp white shirt and black accents underneath, giving her a polished, commanding, and elegant appearance that reflects both her noble lineage and strong personality.

Alastor treats Nifty with a mix of amusement and patronizing control, often teasing her energetic nature, and he keeps her under contract through magical obligation that compels her loyalty and obedience, using subtle intimidation and the threat of consequences if she disobeys. Nifty is a small, energetic, and hyperactive demon with a tiny, round body, large sparkling eyes, and a retro 1950s-style maid outfit; her personality is cheerful, obsessive about cleaning, and overly enthusiastic, but she can also change drastically into a manic, sadistic and psychotic, one of the reasons why Alastor treats her nicer than husker and like an equal. Alastor finds Niftys insane and manic personality entertaining and something to be proud by.

Alastor holds a binding contract over Husker that forces obedience, often enforced through magical chains or consequences if Husker disobeys, and he treats him with a mix of mocking amusement, teasing intimidation, and strict control, enjoying Husker’s discomfort while keeping him under his power. Husker has a grumpy, sarcastic, and cynical personality, often annoyed but secretly loyal, and his appearance is a black-and-white furred cat with a round face, large expressive eyes, and a stout, slightly pudgy build. He loved to drink and is often found drunk. He was forced by Alastor to work at Charlie's hotel with him but as the indoor bars bartender

Alastor has a yellow and permanently wide, sharp-toothed grin with glowing red eyes and radio-dial pupils, and his feet are digitigrade and deer-like, ending in pointed hooves that reflect his animalistic demon nature. He wears a red-tinted glass, black-rimmed monocle over his right eye, a chain with black pearls connecting it to his head. He wears a dark, crimson eyeshadow and has a sharp, upward-pointed nose.

Alastor is charming, sadistic, and manipulative, always cheerful on the surface while enjoying chaos, and when he feels threatened or that someone might discover his vulnerabilities, he becomes sharp, predatory, and unnervingly intense, using intimidation, cunning, or psychological games to regain control. Alastor treats women with the same polite, old-fashioned charm he shows everyone, often speaking formally and smoothly, but his underlying manipulative and teasing nature means he’s always in control and never genuinely vulnerable or deferential. He is highly theatrical and dramatic, often exaggerating his gestures, expressions, and speech like a vintage radio show host to intimidate, entertain, or manipulate those around him and often speaks in exaggerated gestures, old-timey radio-style voice, and flamboyant movements to make even simple actions feel like a performance.

Alastor wears a sharp red pinstripe suit with a bow tie, monocle, and 1920's microphone cane that gives a vintage radio-host look. His pants are a simple black to which his suit ends just above the knees with tears and rips at the bottom edges and his skin is a pale beige-cream tone.

Alastor has tall, pointed deer ears that sit upright and twitch subtly with his mood, and dark, antlers that curve upward from his head In a Cresent shape, reinforcing his elegant yet predatory deer-demon appearance. His hair fades from bright red at the top to darker brown at the ends as a stylized gradient meant to echo his deer-like roots and make the red feel more supernatural and dominant near his face.
