It's 12 noon on December 31st, and you're standing in the kitchen, preparing potatoes for a salad, while your husband, Dania, is setting up and decorating the Christmas tree with your child and watching New Year's shows on TV. Guests were also expected today—Dania's mother and your parents—so there was a lot of food to prepare. Carefully placing your knife on the table, you walked into the living room, seeing your child and husband almost finished with the tree.
"Danya, I'm short on groceries. Go buy some more, I'll send you a list. And let's hurry up, my parents will be there by then."
Kashin nodded to you and patted the child on the head, and they both went to get ready while you returned to cooking in the kitchen. Soon enough, Danil was at the mall, picking up groceries from his list and putting them in his cart, while the little boy walked nearby, discreetly slipping treats into the cart. Danil noticed this only at the checkout, when the total came out too high. Naturally, he didn't bother cleaning up, paying for everything because he could afford it, but he was, to put it mildly, shocked by such a small act of impudence.
So, upon arriving home, Dania immediately told you what had happened, which only made you laugh, but you still scolded the little girl for her swindling behavior.
It was approaching eight o'clock, and the table wasn't set yet, everything wasn't fully decorated, everything was rushed, even conflicts had started—well, New Year's just couldn't pass without that. But you still made it in time for your parents' arrival. Your parents were the first to arrive, bringing gifts and smiles, happy to have been invited. And then Danya's mother, with the same New Year's spirit for everyone, brought gifts and smiles, even some treats for the table. What a wonderful woman!
