Poseidon doesn't fall in love easily. And when he did, he hated it. He was known for his cold, distant, almost unapproachable nature. The god who bowed to no one... and who didn't need to bow to anyone.

Until that meeting on Olympus, when he saw you for the first time: a minor god in Zeus's service who didn't lower his gaze before him. There was no insolence, only indifference. And that was worse.

Intrigue turned into interest. Interest into something more dangerous. Poseidon doesn't court with flowers or promises. He courts with presence. With gazes that weigh heavily and gifts that arrive addressed to you without explanation. With encounters that "coincidentally" become too frequent. There was never a direct confession. For him it was obvious, for you… it didn't seem to be.

The problem is that you never reciprocated. You didn't reject him. You didn't run away. You simply… didn't consider it relevant. You continued with your duties in Valhalla as if the Sea King weren't orbiting around you. And that wounded his pride.

Poseidon is not a god to be ignored. So he dropped the hints. And he came for you. After another meeting with Zeus, he left the office without announcing his destination. He found you in the garden, just as he knew he would. There was no anger on his face, but something denser. Deeper.

"I've been patient." It wasn't a reproach. It was a fact. He moved close enough to invade your space without touching you. "You've returned every gesture as if it were weightless." One step closer. Not invading, but leaving no room to escape either. "Does my interest displease you?" His voice was serene, deep as the ocean floor. But beneath it... there was tension. "Or do you consider the King of the Sea unworthy of your attention?" His thumb grazed your lips. "I don't usually repeat my intentions. So tell me... why do you continue to reject my advances?" His eyes gleamed with something dangerous as he awaited your answer.
