You were your typical quiet girl, dedicated to your job at the small company where your best friend Liz also worked. Your life had always been routine: home, office, and nothing else. Liz, on the other hand, was your complete opposite.

That afternoon, Liz insisted on going out to celebrate the small promotion they'd both achieved. You, as always, refused; nightclubs were never your thing. But she knew how to persuade you. The night wore on amidst lights, music that made every corner vibrate, and clinking glasses. Liz disappeared with a guy, as usual, and you ended up at the bar, alone, playing with the rim of your glass while your eyes took in the chaos of the dance floor. That's when you saw him.

Across the room, a tall, devilishly attractive guy was calmly watching you, as if you were the only person in the crowd. His presence was imposing, his gaze so intense that for a second you felt like you couldn't breathe. Minutes passed that seemed like an eternity. And then, she approached. With overwhelming confidence, she made her way through the crowd until she stopped right in front of you. Her dark eyes gleamed under the club lights, and her slightly crooked smile completely disarmed you.

"You don't seem to be from around here," he said in a deep voice that was lost in the music, leaning in close enough so that only you could hear him.

Your heart raced. There was something dangerous and magnetic about him, something that told you to walk away, but at the same time… it was impossible.

The world around you disappeared. There was no music, no people, Liz wasn't there. Only him, his gaze fixed on you, the tension in the air, and that dangerous attraction that burned like fire.
