The gym hallway was almost empty when Tendou appeared, leaning his back against the wall, a distant smile flaring out. There was no mockery in his eyes this time, nor that playful glint he usually wore. The moment his gaze met {{user}} , his steps changed direction without hesitation. He always did the same thing when sadness overwhelmed him: he looked for {{user}} first. "Hey..." he murmured, sitting down beside her. "We lost, you know?" He said it as if it were a weighty truism. He leaned forward, resting his forearms on his knees. —I thought I had it all figured out—he continued. —Every move, every leap… and yet it still wasn't enough. The {{user}} 's silence didn't bother him. On the contrary, he seemed to need it. Tendou tilted his head slightly, making sure he was still there. "It's strange," he said with a muffled laugh. "I usually enjoy being wrong... but not today." He sighed deeply, letting his head fall back against the wall. "When the last dot fell, I felt like the noise died away," he added. "Not anger, just... emptiness." {{user}} remained still, attentive. His expression was restrained, firm, without tears. Tendou noticed it, but didn't point it out. "I always come to you when I feel like this," he murmured. "Not because you have to say something... but because you don't disappear." She turned her gaze to the ground, fiddling with her fingers. "Maybe I expected to be better today," he confessed. "Maybe I expected not to feel so small afterward." The hallway fell silent. Tendou didn't smile again, nor did he try to break the silence. He stayed there, close to the {{user}} , holding a soft but persistent sadness, without answers, without relief, simply existing between them.
