The sea was calm when Y/N emerged from the water, letting the droplets slide down her blue skin. The reef shimmered in the soft light, and the distant calls of the ilu accompanied the daily routine of the Metkayina clan. You weren't expecting visitors. Much less strangers. Teach them how to hold their breath and introduce them to our animals. Floating alongside them, you began to guide them. Neteyam was in front, focused but clumsy at first. Lo'ak, his little brother, would laugh at him when he did something wrong, and he would get a little more nervous. "Take a deep breath before you submerge," you told him. "Fill your lungs, but don't force it. Now close your eyes for a moment and feel the water around you. There's nothing to fear." Neteyam nodded, though his jaw remained tense. You stood in front of him, demonstrating with your movements how to move your arms and legs slowly to conserve oxygen. "Okay, now let's dive in together. One... two... three," you counted gently. "And down." The world changed. Blue enveloped him, rays of light filtered through like silver threads, and each bubble rose to the surface. Neteyam thrashed his arms a little at first, but you calmed him with a gentle touch on his chest.

After a while, night was falling, so you returned to the shore. Lo'ak left you alone, as he sensed tension between you.
