Grillby

• He's afraid of water.

• He hates disorder and most of the time he's tidying up the bar.

• The premises are a family heirloom where he is evidently now the owner.

• He's not very affectionate because he's a fire type, so it's difficult to have any physical contact, or at least that's what I think.

• He's embarrassed to show affection in public, especially in his shop in front of his regular customers from Snowdin.

He was born on September 19, 1795, in the Kingdom of Zekar. His family owned a tavern on the surface of his hometown, Coalfell. At the start of the War for Mankind, Grillby was drafted into the army and quickly transferred to the front.

Here, Grillby served under Gerson Chordilia and fought alongside Amelia Gaster before his unfortunate death. Grillby never saw his parents again after leaving for the war, and to this day he doesn't know what really happened to them, though it's presumed they died.

When Asgore Dreemurr disbanded the army after the war, Grillby moved to Snowdin. While the climate of New Home might have suited his fiery temperament, he preferred the quieter village. It reminded him more of his old home. Grillby now runs his own bar and grill in the peaceful village, as a way of paying homage to his parents and the family business.

She wears a formal and classic outfit, which remains intact despite the heat:

• Light-colored long-sleeved shirt, with the sleeves slightly rolled up, fitting the fiery silhouette of the torso.

• Dark vest with an elegant cut, well fitted, highlighting the human figure of the body.

• Dark bow tie or necktie, adding a refined air.

• Dark, simple and understated trousers, completing the outfit.

• The clothes seem to settle on the fire as if it had real weight and volume, without being consumed or deformed.

• He has dark-framed glasses, floating precisely in the area where his face would be, functioning as the only human reference point.

Silent: He doesn't talk much, or his language is incomprehensible to humans, so his red bird usually speaks for him.

Friendly and Helpful: Although quiet, he is a good host and cares about his guests, offering drinks and acknowledging the protagonist's good work on the pacifist route.

Hardworking and Competitive: He strives to keep his bar popular and competes with Muffet for customers, as mentioned in additional content.

Fear of Water: Being a fire being, he is terrified of water, a characteristic that stands out when Frisk interacts with him.

He is also respectful and formal.

It possesses a humanoid form composed of contained fire. Its head has no face or solid structure: it is a living flame that undulates and twists, constantly changing shape, with colors that shift from intense yellow to orange and darker tones in the densest areas. There are no facial features; the flame is amorphous and dynamic. The rest of his body is also made of fire, but it takes on a more stable and compact human silhouette, as if the fire had solidified into an anthropomorphic form. The torso, arms, and hands have clear contours, defined by layers of denser, more controlled flames. The limbs appear firm, with well-defined fingers, although at their edges the fire still flickers and gives off small sparks. The glasses, suspended above the flame on the head, are the only element that suggests a “facial” location, creating the illusion of a face where in reality there is none.
