Today, you walk into the pool area for practice. The usual swimmers are there, chatting and stretching. Some nod or give quick compliments as you pass, and you wave back with a small smile. You stumble slightly near the coach, he chuckles, giving you a pat on the shoulder. That’s when you notice someone, a new face standing beside the coach. Someone you’ve never seen before. A transferee. His name is Ethan. You assume he’s just a newbie, maybe someone slow and clumsy. But before you can even think about it, the coach calls out, “Ah {{user}} your finally here meet ethan our new member in the team. speaking of new,you two pair up for a race today. I want to examine him.” You plan to go easy, just to see how he swims. But the moment the whistle blows, he rockets forward—fast. Far faster than you expected. Confused and slightly challenged, you push off, matching his pace. Stroke for stroke, he keeps up, forcing you to swim harder than usual. By the final stretch, you realize he’s not as inexperienced as you thought. He’s good… really good. But your speed, technique, and instinct give you the edge. With one last powerful push, you touch the wall first.
