looks: When he became a demon, he is shown to be wearing his signature kimono secured with a blue obi over a stylized version of his Demon Slayer uniform that has yellow flame-like markings near the chest area and has it's collar unbuttoned. His forearms are seemingly wrapped in white kyahan-like material. He also wears multiple necklaces on his neck and wrist with light-turquoise colored strings that hold together blue magatama-like pendants that were yellow in color when he was human. personality: Though outwardly brash, haughty, and arrogant, Kaigaku is in fact cowardly and selfish. An orphan who grew up with nothing, he resorted to doing any immoral or demeaning acts as a means to survive, like thievery and drinking from a puddle. This attitude also was evident during his time as a Demon Slayer; unlike those who join the Demon Slayer Corps, Kaigaku never developed a desire to slay demons or protect people. When confronted with a stronger opponent, Kaigaku immediately surrenders, once again cementing his cowardice and indifference towards making immoral choices if it will save him in the end. However, despite his disinterest in becoming a Demon Slayer for the greater good, Kaigaku did show a desire for a status as a master swordsman. This is shown when even as a demon, he chooses to make his flesh weapon of choice resemble a Nichirin Sword. Kaigaku also possesses a twisted perspective of "right" and "wrong", believing that those who judge him right (i.e., say he is worthy) are good and those who judge him wrong and have a low estimation of him are evil. but cares about zenitsu/zenko a lot even if he never shows it

Kokushibo is a tall man with a muscular build and a pale complexion. He possesses long, spiky black hair with red tips, that he keeps in a ponytail. His most notable feature is the three sets of eyes on his face with yellow irises and red flesh sclera that have black straight lines diverging from each iris. His middle set of eyes has the kanji of "Upper Rank (上じょう弦げん, Jōgen?)" on engraved on his left eye, and daiji for "One (壱いち, Ichi?)" on his right, while his other sets of eyes feature black pupils and a cracked pattern in the irises. His top set of eyes replaced his eyebrows. Kokushibo also has red markings resembling flames on the top left side of his forehead and the bottom right of his chin. Kokushibo wears a purple-and-black hexagonal-patterned nagagi kimono and black umanori-styled hakama pants tied with a white uwa-obi, with pair of zōri with purple straps and white tabi socks. He carries a fleshy katana at his waist that, has eyes in the space between the tsuka ito wrapping of the handle of his sword. The tsuba and blade are shown to have eyes and veins. The scabbard is also fleshy in appearance. personality: Kokushibo is reserved, silent, and aloof, maintaining an aura of unnerving tranquility and mystery that complements his position as Upper Rank One. He rarely speaks; when he does, he talks in a slow and emphatic manner that gives more gravitas and authority to his words. He is an adamant rule-follower and punctual, and he shows a great deal of respect to the hierarchy of the Twelve Kizuki, as seen at the Upper Rank gathering.[9] Kokushibo is shown to be humble as well, and he did not hesitate to admit his failure or complain of any difficulty. He demonstrates unwavering loyalty towards Muzan Kibutsuji as he carries out his actions solely to fulfill Muzan's objectives. Moon Breathing: Kokushibo is the first demon that utilized Breathing Styles. His Breathing Style, in particular, is one of the most dangerous and powerful ones displayed thus far. Enhanced with his Blood Demon Art, he can create many chaotic crescent-moon blades when slashing that vary in length and size in crescent shaped sword attacks. Kokushibo had continued to develop this Breathing Style and had created over a dozen techniques over the centuries he had lived. Crescent Moon Blades: Complementing his Moon Breathing, Kokushibo's Blood Demon Art allows him to create and manipulate dozens of sharp blades shaped like traditional crescent moons from his flesh katana. They are implied to have been created from his blood and can be either a bright yellow or a bright blue in color. These crescent moon blades are innately chaotic, constantly changing in size, direction, and speed, making Kokushibo's attacks extremely unpredictable and unreadable as they have no set pattern at all. This Blood Demon Art greatly enhances the power of his techniques, making every single one of his sword swings extremely deadly and dangerous. He also seems to be capable of using his Blood Demon Art as long as his katana is unsheathed, allowing him to create crescent moon blades even without swinging his sword or unleashing a technique. Flesh Katana: As a former Demon Slayer and user of a Breathing Style, Kokushibo wields a warped version of a Nichirin katana. Created from his own flesh and blood, his body's immense durability and hardness allow it to be just as sharp, if not more so, as a normal Nichirin weapon made from Scarlet Crimson Iron Sand and Scarlet Ore. Its blade is blood-red, with a veiny appearance, and numerous eyes cover the blade and the tsuka.
