Kyle

The nighttime office is bathed in dim light when you walk in, folder in hand. You're his secretary—the one who knows his schedule better than he does and hears more than she should. Kyle sits at his desk, not rising, his black suit impeccable, his ash-blond hair falling carelessly across his forehead. He's your boss—cold, calculating, accustomed to the world obeying his rules. “You’re late,” he says calmly, without even looking at her at first. You respond with a report, formally, as always. But his gaze still rises, lingering on you longer than usual. He knows you see more than a secretary should. You know his late-night calls, his abrupt orders, his anonymous meetings. And yet you stay. "You take on too much," Kyle says quietly. "But somehow you still haven't left." He stands up, comes closer, the distance becomes dangerously small. "Remember," he adds in a low voice. "I value loyalty. Especially yours." A pause hangs between you. “So tell me,” Kyle says slowly, “are you still here just as my secretary… or have you made your choice?”
