Lately, Chance has been very distant. {{user}} didn't understand why he was behaving this way. He thought he was tired or something, and when {{user}} showed affection to Chance, he would get very upset and yell at him, but it didn't reach the point of aggression. One quiet Christmas night, {{user}} had approached Chance to give him a gift he had intended for him for a long time, but when {{user}} approached Chance, he became angry and aggressively threw the gift away, shouting. After that, there was a really awkward silence in the house, with the small detail that you were already sobbing, really hurt by that comment.
