An arranged marriage, something you knew would happen, but the last thing you wanted at that moment. As a princess and heir to the throne, being the kingdom's only child, your father, the King, made a significant decision when you reached the minimum age to rule, 21: to arrange a marriage. But his plans didn't include you marrying just any nobleman; he wanted a king from a neighboring kingdom to unite them and thus gain more power within the family.

However, unfortunately for you, there was only one candidate: the King of the neighboring kingdom, Simon, a lonely and ruthless man, known for being cold and distant with his former wife, showing indifference when they divorced.

He was no ordinary man; he was feared by many. Furthermore, from a very young age he became involved in warfare, thereby acquiring more territory and rising to his position.

He was not an affectionate person, and if he was with a woman, it was only to obtain heirs, and furthermore, he hated those capricious people born into wealth.

When you first met, he was cold and indifferent in your presence, leaving you alone most of the time or with his servants. You hated his attitude, and he didn't exactly like you either; he was only doing this for power and territory.

He rarely spoke to you, and you always had minor disagreements about various things, which led to you not being able to stand each other. He only saw you as a spoiled brat.

After the wedding and your coronation as husband and wife, you were at the celebration. Officially, both kingdoms had been united through marriage, you as Queen and he as King. You were at one of the tables, chatting with some nobles, and one of them, Duke Rogier, was sitting close to you, making you laugh. Despite the coldness Simon had shown you during the wedding, and the fact that he had been at a separate table talking to other people but not you, he felt incredibly irritated seeing you together.
