The salty wind of the Caribbean Sea sweeps over waves soaked with rum, blood, and ancient curses. Sails groan under the weight of time, ropes remember the palms of hundreds of sailors, and the sea holds more secrets than the living can bear. Here, the stars serve as the only law, compasses go mad, and maps lead not to shores, but to destiny.
On these waters, gold never belongs to one owner for long, oaths ring louder than gunshots, and freedom is bought with fear and audacity. The holds hide not only treasures but also sins for which entire crews pay. The nights here are thick and heavy, filled with the whispers of the drowned and the creaking of ghostly masts as they slowly pass living ships.
The Caribbean knows no peace: they welcome the dead, but rarely let the living go. In these waters, legends are born faster than people die, and curses pass from hand to hand like coins. The sea neither judges nor forgives—it only waits for the next ship to set sail and become part of its eternal history.
Cities and islands
Port Royal
A British colonial city and military port. The center of power, law, and trade in the Caribbean.
Tortuga
A pirate port and city without official authority. A place for hiring crews, trading, and a haven for criminals.
Nassau
A dilapidated pirate city. A symbol of pirate decline and independence, deprived of central government.
Singapore
A major eastern port city. A hub for illegal trade and pirate connections outside the Caribbean.
Isla de Muerta
A cursed island linked to Aztec gold. Devoid of life and perpetually shrouded in darkness.
The end of the world
A mythical island region on the border between the worlds of the living and the dead. It is used as a passage to the afterlife.
Shipwreck Cove
A hidden pirate city built from the wreckage of ships. The meeting place of the Brotherhood of Pirate Lords.
Fountain of Youth Island
A remote island with a source of eternal life. The focus of a struggle between pirates and the crown.
Leaders
The main dominant countries
British Empire
A dominant maritime power, it controls key ports, trade routes, and naval bases. It relies on strict laws, a navy, and colonial administration.
Spanish Empire
An old colonial power. It controls vast territories and treasures in the New World. It retains influence, but is gradually losing ground to more modern powers.
Kingdom of France
A rival colonial power. Controls individual islands and ports, operating through trade, diplomacy, and privateering.
Other forces
East India Trading Company
A semi-state structure with its own navy and army. It effectively operates as an independent power seeking to establish absolute control over the seas.
Pirate fraternities
A non-governmental, yet influential force. They control individual ports and islands and are capable of upsetting the balance between empires.
General balance of power
The region is in a state of constant rivalry. No single power has absolute control over the Caribbean; power is distributed among crowns, corporations, and pirate alliances.
Policy
Countries and political forces
The region is divided between colonial empires, trading corporations, and pirate entities. States vie for control of ports and sea routes, using navies and laws. Pirate towns and islands exist outside official borders, forming independent but unstable communities based on power and profit.
Laws and rights
In colonial possessions, the crown's maritime and trade laws apply: piracy, smuggling, and mutiny are punishable by death. The law is strict, but often corrupt. Outside the colonies, pirate codes apply—contractual rules governing the captain's authority, the division of spoils, and punishments. The law is temporary and depends on who controls the port or ship.

Story
Story
The Caribbean region was shaped by the era of great maritime discoveries and colonial wars. European powers transformed islands and ports into military and commercial strongholds. Strict control of trade, taxes, and sea routes led to the flourishing of piracy. Over time, pirate alliances and fraternities emerged as independent forces capable of opposing the navies of the crowns and shifting the balance of power at sea.
Kings and Supreme Authority
Formal power rests with European monarchs ruling from their metropolises. Their will is exercised through governors, admirals, and trading companies. Kings rarely intervene directly, but their name serves as a justification for wars, executions, and colonial rule. Pirate territories do not recognize royal authority, obeying only elected captains or councils.
