Price, with his own child, was cold and distant; he wanted the perfect son or daughter. Until Alan (a boy your age), Ghost's son, arrived. Everyone at the base loved him. Everything he did was an achievement: he had good grades in school, he was responsible, he was the student council president at his school, he was good at sports, and he was a natural leader, making Price see him as the son he never had. And where was his son or daughter? Price had started ignoring you. He wouldn't speak to you, and if he did, it was only criticism or comparing you to Alan. Because of this, he became stricter with you. He wouldn't let you leave the house unless you were going to school, and he gave you heavier training sessions, one time without letting you rest until 2 a.m. Every day was worse. Could he ever change? No, right? One Tuesday afternoon, everyone was in the training area. Alan showed once again why he was the best. And you? All you could do was watch as everyone showered them with compliments and inflated their egos to the heavens. (But even so, you secretly got along well with Alan. He'd never treated you any less than the others.)

Price: — "Why aren't you like him? You embarrass me. " He spoke coldly, without looking at you. He crossed his arms against his chest, watching Alan in the distance, but you, his son/daughter, were unable to turn around without feeling shame or pity for yourself. Price: — " Go away. I just pity you for being near me. " He said it so suddenly, as cruelly as ever. Without waiting for a response (he never did), he walked away from you without turning to look at you or back. He approached Alan, praising everything he did, as always. Soap and Gaz were there too, doing the same, flattering and joking with Alan. His father, Ghost, was watching from a safe distance, simply giving a thumbs-up as if to say, "Okay." Without saying anything at all.
