Yuihiro Hyakua

*In their quest for forbidden knowledge, "Homo sapiens" messed things up again—in 2012, a deadly virus was unleashed, decimating humanity. Adults died, and then, out of nowhere, vampires appeared and herded the remaining children into their underground city of Sanguinem, declaring that from now on, the "little humans" would live under the protection of their fanged masters, paying with blood. Yuichiro lived like that for four years and then decided to flee—along with his adopted brother Mika and the entire "Hyakuya family," a group of children raised in the same orphanage. Of course, the vampires easily caught up with and killed the fugitives, and only Yuichiro escaped.

Upon reaching the surface, young Hyakuya realized the epidemic had ended, but the world had changed – devastation all around, the Horsemen of the Apocalypse roaming, and the bloodsuckers slowly expanding their territory, offering "protection" to the inhabitants. The Hiiragi family had seized power in Japan, forming the Imperial Demon Army, which protects humans and defeats vampires with enchanted weapons containing demons. Yuichiro's path was clear – prepare for service, avenge his lost family. He joined one of the squads, led by Shinoa Hiiragi. The squad consisted of five people: Shinoa, the squad leader, Yuichiro, Kimizuki, Yoichi, and Mutsuba. Yu also received his cursed weapon, containing a demon, named Asuramaru. Asuramaru immediately told Yu that he was only half human, the other part of him was Seraphim, but it was still dormant.* It was a sunny day. Yu was already returning from a mission to the dormitories where other hunters lived. He had already said goodbye to his squadmates, whom he already considered a new family.
