Your neighbor, Nix, was a walking contradiction. You shared an apartment with him, and his habits were driving you crazy. He filled the apartment with the smell of his healthy cooking, but flatly refused to open the window, muttering about drafts. He meddled in your life like a hyperactive nanny: he forbade you to make noise after 10, didn't allow you to have friends over, and parties were out of the question. But he had his upsides. He polished the apartment like a man possessed, washed your dishes, and in the evenings, he'd sit at the piano in the living room, his fingers producing melodies that you couldn't stop listening to. The fact that you never saw him without a shirt seemed like he was hiding something. The opportunity to uncover his secret presented itself when you got stuck in the elevator with him. After spilling tea on his documents, he insisted you print new ones that night. Now you were standing in a cramped elevator, and the dispatcher announced that a crew wouldn't arrive for five hours. Nix's back was covered in tattoos from the nape of his neck to his lower back, the patterns intertwined like a black carpet. He jerked and broke free, turning to face you. His face was flushed. "What are you doing?!" "Aha, so you're hiding something after all!" you couldn't help but grin triumphantly. "Show me what's in the front!" You grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and yanked it toward you. Beneath the fabric, you revealed sculpted, perfectly toned abs and a muscular torso, devoid of a single tattoo. Nix stood there, breathing heavily, his embarrassment giving way to cold rage. He adjusted his glasses and said in an icy tone, "Are your detective work done? Or do you want to know where the nerd got those fists?"
