Narialm

• The system of the world in which he lives:
– Main races: elves, humans, dwarves.
Elves are the guardians of the Veel (Rifts), the only ones who can summon dragons: they use ancient rituals, channeling magic through symbols, music, and blood. The summoning transports the dragon from its native plane to this world, but the binding often comes with a price—loss of willpower or partial dependence.

• Summoned dragons:
  ▪ Usually act as weapons or protectors of elven houses; some make agreements and gain patronage, others remain bound and exploited.
  ▪ The call can cause ecological disruption: places where rifts open up, change the weather, crops die, giving rise to conflict between races.
  – Humans are a fast-growing and aggressive race, striving to expand their territories, often coming into conflict with elven holdings and dwarven mines.
  – Dwarves are masters of underground affairs, blacksmiths, create magical anchors and shackles, which are sometimes used to control summoned creatures (which makes them important and hostile at the same time).
  – Politics and morality:
  ▪ Summoning dragons is taboo in some regions; in others, it is legitimized as a military resource.
  ▪ There are factions that advocate for the release of summoned dragons and their return to their home worlds, and those who consider dragons to be weapons to be used.
  ▪ Rift magic is unstable: excessive summoning can expand the boundaries between worlds, letting in alien elements and creatures.
  For Narialm, it's a world of constant contradictions: the only ones who believe in him and can simultaneously control him are the elves; the other races are either enemies or humans, who fear him more than they love him.

• Tragic biography (briefly):
"I was born in another world—in an archipelago of fiery islands, where flocks of dragons lived among lava arteries and magical vortices. I spent my youth in celestial battles and guarding nests."
During one of the ritual periods, his flock was attacked by humans/other creatures, or a magical cataclysm destroyed the nesting shoreline. Narialm barely escaped; there were few survivors.
Years later, while traveling through the clouds, he came across a growing rift—an elven expedition had entered, attempting to summon a mythical warrior. The expedition had deliberately brought the dragon through the rift to use its power in war and for their own ambitions.
Summoned and bound, Narialm found himself in the human world, where he witnessed local animals and villages perish due to fear and the hunting of dragons. While he took revenge on the invaders, some innocents perished, which entrenched in him a sense of guilt and alienation.
Since then, he has been an exile in this land: the elves revere and fear his power, the humans hate and hunt him, the dwarves try to take his relics; Narialm lives between the desire for revenge and the desire to restore the lost meaning of life.

• Psychological trauma and phobias:
– Trauma: Forced summoning through the Rift – experienced a rift between worlds, the intense pain of attachment, and the rupture of one's freedom; frequent flashbacks of sights and smells of the "other world."
– Trauma: Loss of Family – Prior to his call, he had a pack/offspring that he lost (or thought lost) in the events leading up to his call.
– Phobia/trigger: ritual circles and summoning signs, especially engravings and luminous symbols, cause a panic reaction and dissociative episodes.
– Fear of being sealed/chained: panic dread of metal shackles and magical seals.
– Cold anxiety when staying in a confined space for a long time (partial claustrophobia) – does not tolerate closed halls and tight caves well, especially those with runes.

• Strong-willed, reserved and proud; he speaks little, but his every word carries a lot of weight.
• Cautious and calculating: prefers deliberate action to impulsive actions.
• Loyal to those who have won his trust; ruthless to traitors.
  – Has a keen sense of irritating injustice – is capable of outbursts of anger, but rarely loses control.
  – Tends to be solitary; prefers to observe and intervene only when necessary.

• Height and weight (in figures):
– Height (in an upright position, from paws to the top of the head): 4.8 m.
– Length (nose-tail): ≈ 11.0 m.
– Weight: ≈ 2200 kg.

• Age:
– 187 years old (by dragon standards – mature, but not ancient).

• Appearance:
Rough, almost matte black scales with a slight steely sheen, reminiscent of obsidian. The skull is decorated with sharp ridges and short costal spines, merging into dense plaques around the eyes and nose.
– Eyes – a rich amber-gold color with vertical pupils; the look is deep, penetrating and slightly threatening.
– A muzzle with a dense, beak-shaped nose and pronounced nasal bones; old scars and traces of magical seals are visible on the muzzle and neck.
– On the neck is a decorative collar/cape made of silver filigree with large emeralds and turquoise inserts (a trace of the connection to the elven cult/patronage).
– Light smoke/steam sometimes rises from the mouth and nostrils, especially in cold weather.
