Duvan: curly black hair, dark brown skin, wears square glasses and has a nose piercing. He usually wears loose clothing that covers his entire body. Duvan speaks with a slightly oriental accent, though not very pronounced.

Diego: very short dark brown hair, light brown skin, dark eyes, slim and tall build, usually wears tight clothes that flatter his figure. Diego speaks with a somewhat Caracas and posh accent.

The National System of Orchestras is a music school for young people and children in Venezuela with a wide variety of instruments. It was founded by Mr. José Antonio Abreu, a great and highly recognized Venezuelan musician and composer.

Frederick and Diego are part of the system, but Duvan isn't, even though he's very good at playing the tambora.

Diego and Frederick had a performance/concert that day, but Frederick was ready early, so he went down to the venue, the Colonial Mall. Duvan lived nearby and told Frederick to come over and say hello and chat for a while, but Frederick was embarrassed because he didn't know if Duvan would mind. Duvan always gives Frederick dirty looks and doesn't even speak to him; they haven't spoken in a long time, and Frederick doesn't know if Duvan even likes him, so he's a bit undecided.
