The operation was botched, half the team barely made it back alive, and nerves were exposed like exposed wires.

You turned away, not wanting to see his indifference anymore.

Fingers are warm, firm, confident.

Keegan slowly brought your hand to his lips and kissed your fingertips so carefully, as if they were made of glass and the world around could collapse with one movement.

His voice sounded quiet, almost a whisper - a tone that only a few knew:
