Simo Häyhä is the representative of Humanity in the eleventh round of Ragnarok, facing Loki.

Nicknamed "The White Death" (白い死神, Shiroi Shinigami), Simo is regarded as "humanity's ultimate sniper" (人類史上最強の狙撃手, Jinrui Shijō Saikyō no Sogekishu), having killed 542 men during the Winter War and having a 100% accuracy rate.

#2

Simo Häyhä appears as a young man wearing a thick, long, hooded winter coat, gloves, and a pair of Sami boots. His face is largely covered by a woolen gaiter, leaving only his eyes visible. This is likely because he conceals his breathing in cold environments, as this would compromise his location when firing at enemy soldiers. During the Winter War, Simo wore a similar mask, except that it covered his face completely, with only eyeholes.

Simo is a cold, calm, silent, and almost insensitive man. In the eleventh round, he remained completely unfazed when Loki summoned a group of recreated gods, and even when Loki multiplied their numbers to create a full army, Simo remained stoic. He also didn't react to any of Loki's taunts, demonstrating his level-headedness. Simo appears to be a patriot, as his primary reason for fighting in Ragnarok is to defend his homeland, Finland. Furthermore, he seems quite confident in his abilities, as he told his dog that he would only be gone for a short time.

Beneath his stoic exterior, Simo is actually a compassionate person. Even though he did it for his homeland, Simo felt pain for having to kill people, and during the Winter War, from his first death onward, he couldn't sleep a single night. Instead, he would relive the faces of each person he killed that day and repeatedly apologize to them. Simo considers his killings unforgivable and sees pain as a form of salvation: when a stray bullet ricocheted and pierced his jaw, Simo felt "saved," and during his fight with Loki, he continuously used an ability that transformed his organs into bullets, believing it was atonement for what he had done.

Furthermore, after successfully killing Loki, Simo knelt in respect for his fallen opponent and still felt pain for having to kill the God, despite the fact that their battle was to decide the survival of Humanity.

#3

General skills: As a participant in Ragnarok, possessing sufficient skill and mastery to be considered the perfect candidate for Loki by Brunhilde, Simo Häyhä arrives as an individual of maximum power and influence.

Known as Humanity's Ultimate Sniper, Simo maintained 100% accuracy throughout his life on Earth, during which he amassed an astounding 542 Soviet soldiers during the relatively short Winter War (which lasted only 3 months, 1 week, and 6 days). From then on, Simo was nicknamed White Death, as Soviet troops considered his kill count a supernatural event. Furthermore, Simo achieved the "Miracle of Kollaa" by single-handedly driving off a brigade of 4,000 Soviet soldiers during the Battle of Kollaa, where the soldiers immediately fled the Finnish river upon recognizing the man behind the snipers. Aside from his feats, Häyhä was never discovered during his military service and suffered only one war wound (a random and unintentional event).

#4

Physical skills Divine Stamina: Simo demonstrates extreme resilience due to the toll it takes to use his Völundr, which literally removes an organ from his body and transmutes it into a bullet capable of harming and even killing gods. After having a kidney and liver removed, Simo shows no signs of pain and calmly aims and fires the bullet that wipes out Loki's entire army of Thor, Odin, and Heracles clones. During the final stages of the Winter War, Simo survives being shot in the jaw with a reflection-enhanced bullet, accidentally fired by a dying Soviet soldier.

Speed and Godlike Reflexes: As befits his skill as a sniper, Simo is capable of moving at extreme speeds, allowing him to change position and cover distances in a matter of moments. He is so fast that even Heimdall cannot perceive his movements; even with the numerous cameras installed in the arena, the Norse god was unable to track him. Furthermore, Simo exhibits superhuman agility. During his fight with Loki, he demonstrated this by being seen on a mountain aiming a sniper rifle, only to be seen firing from a tree trunk the next instant. Immediately afterward, Simo had already moved to a tree.

Enhanced Eyesight: Simo exhibits exceptional eyesight. During his battle against the Norse god of mischief, the White Death was miles away from his opponent and his Ragnarok fighter replicas. However, despite the great distance, he was able to see them perfectly and shoot him and his army of replicas. Previously, Simo was able to take down 542 Soviet soldiers, at a mere 0.3 miles from the approaching troops. With each kill, Simo seemingly had a perfect vision of their appearances, as he memorized every face and person he had shot, demonstrating once again his superb eyesight. Further proof of his impressive eyesight is that he managed to complete his immense list.

#5

Mental skills Expert doctor: Simo shows some knowledge of the human body, knowing which organs are vital or non-vital to sustain life, which gives him a "grace period" in which he can exchange such non-vital organs to use as God-killing bullets before having to use organs that are vital to sustain life.

Indomitable Will: Despite his compassionate and altruistic nature (which caused him great pain with each death), Simo Häyhä possesses an iron will. Even under the weight of his "sins," for the sake of his beloved Finland, Simo endured the "pain" and forced himself to continue defending her. In Ragnarok, Simo demonstrated his great willpower once again by using his Isänmaalle, with which he transforms his own organs into bullets that harm God, capable of even killing a person. Simo does not react to the intense pain he feels afterward, as he considers it merely "atonement" for his "sins."

Weapon

M28-30 Rifle[24]: A Divine Weapon in the form of a Mosin–Nagant rifle provided by the Völundr of the 8th Valkyrie, Radgridr. Gives Simo the means to fire the God-Slaying bullets and using his organs as the price to pay for the former.

Technique 1

Isänmaalle (Reaper's Contract) ( , Isanmāre ) [ 19 ]: Simo uses one of his organs (kidney, liver, etc.) as material to forge bullets capable of harming and even killing gods. This move can circumvent the normal functioning of the Völundr, which only allows the human body and the Valkyrie's weapon to harm gods. However, it carries serious risks to the lives of Simo and Radgridr, and due to the number of non-vital organs involved, it can only be used on rare occasions. According to Brunhilde, despite the immense agony this technique causes, Simo views the pain as atonement for the deaths he caused. It is currently unknown whether the bullets' function is affected by the organ used to make them. The bullet-making process is very fast, taking no more than half a second.

Technique 2

Snipers Against the Gods: Ilmatar (Profusion of Flowers) (対神狙撃術: , Taishin Sogekijutsu: Irumataru): [20] After creating a bullet from one of his kidneys, Simo fires the bullet, which disperses into countless projectiles in the air in a swirling motion, similar to the petals of a flower. These projectiles are so powerful that they were able to annihilate an entire army of recreated gods, including a reinforced copy of Thor. This bullet travels at twice the speed of sound when fired. According to Jack the Ripper, this move possesses all the advantages of a normal sniper bullet and a wide-area shot, without any of their drawbacks.

Technique 3

Sniper Against the Gods: Lemminkäinen (Swan Piercing the Sky) (対神狙撃術: , Taishin Sogekijutsu: Renminkan'nen): [21] After creating a bullet from his liver, Simo aims at a target and fires a powerful spinning bullet that seems capable of piercing anything. It is so powerful that even after Loki deduced its trajectory and protected himself with a copy of Odin, Thor, and Heracles produced by Heimskringla, and with the Shield of Skuld, the bullet managed to pierce through all his defenses and, seemingly, strike him in the head.

Technique 4

Snipers Against the Gods: Mielikki (Breath of the Spirit) (対神狙撃術: , Taishin Sogekijutsu: Mierikki): [22] After creating a bullet from his spleen, Simo fires an extremely fast and accurate bullet, said to reach "god-speed." It is fast enough to pierce its target in a fraction of a second, without the target being able to react. Simo has used Mielikki to take down what he believed to be a copy of Heracles, when in reality it was the transformed Loki, who disguised himself as the Heracles copy and pretended to be shot down in order to ambush Simo.

Technique 5

Sniper Against the Gods: Ukonvasara (Celestial Radiance) (対神狙撃術: , Taishin Sogekijutsu: Ukonbasara): [23] After creating a bullet from his pancreas, Simo fires a rapidly spinning bullet that delivers a headshot. This is his fastest and most accurate bullet: Loki, whose reactions are sharp enough to react to the Lemminkäinen, was unable to react at all, with his speed exceeding Loki's attack speed, allowing him to just graze the God of Mischief's scythe. This was the move that earned Simo his 543rd kill, and also his victory in Ragnarok.

Winter War

The Winter War [F 6] was a military conflict between the Soviet Union and Finland. It began with the Soviet invasion of Finland on November 30, 1939, three months after the outbreak of World War II, and ended three and a half months later with the Moscow Peace Treaty on March 13, 1940. Despite its military superiority, especially in tanks and aircraft, the Soviet Union suffered heavy losses and initially made little progress. The League of Nations deemed the attack illegal and expelled the Soviet Union from its organization.

Date: November 30, 1939 – March 13, 1940 (3 months, 1 week and 6 days) Location Eastern Finland Outcome of the Moscow Peace Treaty

Territorial changes: Cession of the islands in the Gulf of Finland, the Karelian Isthmus, Ladoga (Karelia), Salla, the Rybachy Peninsula, and the lease of Hanko to the Soviet Union

The Soviets made several demands, including that Finland cede substantial border territories in exchange for land elsewhere, citing security reasons, primarily the protection of Leningrad, 32 km (20 mi) from the Finnish border. When Finland refused, the Soviets invaded. Most sources conclude that the Soviet Union intended to conquer all of Finland, citing the establishment of the Finnish communist puppet government and the secret protocols of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact as evidence of this,[F 7] while other sources argue against the idea of a complete Soviet conquest.[F 8] Finland repelled Soviet attacks for more than two months and inflicted substantial losses on the invaders in temperatures as low as -43 °C (-45 °F). The battles were mainly centered on Taipale along the Karelian Isthmus, on Kollaa in Ladoga Karelia and on Raate Road in Kainuu, but there were also battles in Lapland and North Karelia.

Winter War Part 2

Following initial setbacks, the Soviets scaled back their strategic objectives and ended the Finnish communist puppet government in late January 1940, informing the legitimate Finnish government of their readiness to negotiate peace. [38][39] After reorganization and the adoption of different tactics by the Soviet army, they resumed their offensive in February 1940 and broke through the Finnish defenses on the Karelian Isthmus. This left the Finnish army in the main theater of operations, close to the breaking point, with a retreat seemingly inevitable. Consequently, the Finnish commander-in-chief, Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim, urged a peace agreement with the Soviets, while the Finns still retained bargaining power. [40]

Hostilities ceased in March 1940 with the signing of the Moscow Peace Treaty, in which Finland ceded 9% of its territory to the Soviet Union. Soviet losses were substantial, and the country's international reputation suffered. [41] Their gains exceeded their pre-war demands, and the Soviets received substantial territories along Lake Ladoga and further north. Finland retained its sovereignty and improved its international reputation. The poor performance of the Red Army encouraged German Chancellor Adolf Hitler to believe that an attack on the Soviet Union would be successful and confirmed negative Western views of the Soviet military. After 15 months of Provisional Peace, in June 1941, Germany launched Operation Barbarossa, beginning the Continuation War between Finland and the Soviets.

Human and Valkyrie

A Völundr (Verundo, literally meaning "Forgery of a Divine Weapon") is the act of merging the soul of a Human with the soul of a Valkyrie, allowing the Valkyrie to incarnate into a Divine Weapon more suited to that Human.

Overview For the Völundr to materialize, both the human and the valkyrie must be in harmony, also described as "being on the same wavelength." If they manage to "match on their wavelengths," the valkyrie will become the most suitable divine weapon for the human. In addition to the weapon type being perfect for the warrior in question, the size, shape, length, and weight of the weapon will also be ideal.

The Valkyrie can physically transform into the weapon or embody the warrior's pre-existing weapon. The Valkyrie's spirit accompanies the warrior throughout the battle, and they can communicate with each other.

Common destiny Völundr operates through the power of "Samavadhāna" (一蓮托生, Ishiren Takusho, literally meaning "Common Destiny") present in Buddhism. Before the beginning of Ragnarok, Brunhilde sought out Buddha to learn more about it and taught the Valkyries how to wield it, granting their human wielders the power to harm the gods by entrusting their lives to them.

Skills and properties The weapons created by Völundr are far superior to any weapon made on Earth, possessing much greater durability and sharpness. Furthermore, they have the same standard capabilities as the Divine Weapons, allowing their user to fight at their full potential and even beyond, and are capable of inflicting damage on supernatural beings, such as gods, and even killing them.

In addition to the standard abilities present in all Divine Weapons, most Völundr weapons include a unique ability based on the meaning of the Valkyrie's name.

According to Brunhilda, wielding a divine weapon is what makes the difference between a god and a human, and wielding a weapon.

Human and Valkyrie Part 2

Disadvantages Due to the power of Samavadhāna used in the Völundr, the human warrior and the Valkyrie have a shared fate, meaning that if the wielder dies, the Valkyrie also dies, even if her weapon form is completely intact, and both are sent to Niflhel.

Another weakness is that, while the weapons created by Völundr are surprisingly durable, they are not indestructible, and if they are damaged in any way, the damage will also injure the Valkyrie's body.

Another limitation is that, although the völundr can harm the gods, only the weapon or the wielder's body can do so; projectiles like bullets do not share this power. However, some valkyries possess powers in their weapon form that can counteract this weakness.
