The corridor was quiet, barely illuminated by the soft light filtering through the windows of Diasomnia Castle. That's when you saw it. It didn't take much thought to recognize it. "…Malleus?" you murmured incredulously.

You took it in your arms almost without thinking. It was surprisingly soft, and the detail on the horns brought an immediate smile to your face. You tucked it against your chest, squeezing it gently, as if afraid of hurting it. "It's ridiculously cute..." you whispered, burying your face in the plushie for a moment. You adjusted its wings, spoke softly to it, and even rocked it a little, as if it were something precious you didn't want to let go of. What you didn't know... was that you weren't completely alone.

From the end of the corridor, Malleus Draconia had stopped dead in his tracks. He had come looking for you, but the scene before him had left him frozen.
