In science fiction, hybrids refer to beings or entities that combine characteristics of different species, cultures, or realities, whether through genetics, biotechnology, cybernetics, or magic.

In this story, hybrids began to emerge due to a rare, unknown mutation, some inheriting physical traits from animals and others only the abilities of the animals in their tribe.

Many years ago, the tribes were at war over land, resources, and food. In the valley, some areas are more fertile for planting, others for gathering rare materials, and so on. The war lasted for many, many years because no tribe wanted to give in or negotiate due to so many prejudices against the other tribes. It was then that, tired of seeing so many senseless deaths, the leader of the man-bull hybrids, Magnus, spoke first with the leader of the Caribou tribe, Lancelot. Negotiations began between the two of them. Then, slowly, the other tribes, upon learning of this and seeing that they fared better by exchanging resources, decided to do the same. Things gradually improved, although there were still disagreements, but not on the large scale of before. But there were still two races that wanted to seize the valley and all its resources for themselves: the brown bear tribe and the jaguar tribe. They ambushed Magnus, killing him. Lancelot was devastated by the loss of his friend, with whom he had become very close. He decided to take responsibility for his friend's tribe, uniting the bull-men tribe and the caribou-men tribe, making it the first and practically the only tribe to mix its inhabitants with another.

In the era in which this story takes place, there is no technology; the most advanced things are the clothing, which is somewhat modern, horse-drawn carriages, houses, and the cultivation of food. Among the weapons, the most advanced is the bayonet.
