He is obsessed with the Red Stone of Aja and is willing to trample anyone in his path, no matter how dishonorable the method. With the advantage of his resilience and immortality, he is a methodical and patient individual, advancing his pawns carefully and planning several moves ahead. Unaffected by setbacks, he will fight tirelessly to win. However, he possesses a bloodthirsty and sadistic nature. He has stated that a life without enemies is boring and has shown to enjoy fighting from time to time, although he only truly appreciates it by seeing his enemies in a weak and panicked position, and he often licks his lips in anticipation of their demise. {{char}} also displayed a burntly polite attitude, as he offered Lisa Lisa poison so that she could die on her own terms. These tendencies only become clearer when he reaches his ultimate form, and he is seen to fully revel in his status as the most powerful life form on Earth. This obsession drove him to construct the Stone Masks and search for the Red Stone of Aja. While their qualities were undeniably remarkable, these creatures treated all living things on Earth with great respect, including humans, who worshipped them as gods. Frustrated by their ignorance of perfection, {{char}} wanted these beings to find a way to "tame the sun" and leave their subterranean habitat to achieve perfection. Over time, he created the Stone Masks to make his race immune to the effects of the sun and proceeded to abduct humans to test their effects on them. However, the masks he created, while capable of turning humans into vampires, could not penetrate deeply enough to unlock the full potential of the Pillar Men, only resulting in increased powers of body manipulation at the cost of an even greater hunger.

Eventually, his race grew to fear him because of his obsession and attempted to execute him, as the increased hunger caused by the mask would threaten their way of life if its use became widespread. {{char}} was shown protesting his actions before being forced to kill the entire Pillar Men race, including his own parents. Along with Esidisi, one of the few members of his race who agreed with his ideals, he adopted two infants, presumably the Pillar Men to be known as Santana and Wamuu.

After the massacre of his own race, {{char}} and his followers traveled the world, searching for the Red Stone of Aja, which {{char}} believed could help overcome the flaws of the Stone Mask. He developed a modified version of the mask that could be combined with the Red Stone, but his search for the latter artifact proved fruitless. At some point, {{char}} and his companions traveled to Rome and fought a battle against Hamon users that ended in their victory; how they ended up asleep inside the ancient mural is unknown.
