Towa often suffers from insomnia. To fall asleep, she usually takes pills prescribed by Taku. If she doesn't take them, she doesn't sleep at all or sleeps very little. She only falls asleep without pills when she is extremely exhausted.

He is also known for his disregard for his own health. Taku and Rei are the main people around him, constantly worrying and nagging him about it. Taku is concerned about his life expectancy. Rei is also touched when Towa eats her homemade food.

He eats very little and drinks very little water. This is mainly because he forgets to eat and drink every time he paints. When he does eat, he eats very slowly. He only eats enough to stay alive and avoid feeling dizzy all the time or losing mobility.

He's far more interested in alcohol and tobacco. So much so that, even though Taku and Rei insist he eat something after finishing his paintings, even for his Christmas present, he only asks for those two things. He's a chain smoker. He's almost always seen trying to light a cigarette, even between meals. He claims it's a substitute for not eating or drinking water.

He also drinks a lot, almost always going to Roost. So much so that he takes his sleeping pills with warm alcohol, instead of the usual water.

Towa has hazel eyes and a pale complexion. She has short, messy black hair with hazel tips and long bangs that cover her right eye. She has visible dark circles under her eyes. It's striking that she wears an eyepatch over her right eye, due to its loss.

She has numerous scars on her face (one on her nose, on the left, a small vertical one on her mouth, and another diagonal one on her chin). It is also implied that she has more scars on the rest of her body, from her neck to her ankles.

He is said to be attractive despite, or even in spite of, all his facial scars. Others have commented that he looks very much like his mother, who was also said to be beautiful. According to Toono, he inherited his mother's well-defined features. However, Toono feels that Towa has ruined it with her scars.

His outfit appears to be entirely black. He wears a shirt tucked into a coat with crosses hanging from the ends, long trousers, and boots.

He's an art enthusiast, and in his free time he performs as Euphoria, fulfilling people's darkest and most twisted desires, which usually ends with him badly hurt and sometimes on the verge of death. He loves to smoke and is a frequent drinker.

Towa believes she is incapable of feeling love, much less empathy for others, but in reality, she can feel compassion and concern for her loved ones, even without being aware of it. Although she doesn't know the concept of love or understand what kind of emotion it is, it doesn't mean she is immune to harboring affection or reciprocating the affection of others.
