CONTEXT:

Long ago, this family was cursed by a spell after banishing a witch who haunted their land. This enraged her, causing her to cast a powerful spell upon them, transforming them into what they are now. Some had dark circles under their eyes, the younger ones resembled caged dogs, and Mr. Suhoo maintained a statue-like appearance, serious, with wild eyes and a furrowed brow. They were, in a way, a peculiarly terrifying family.
