Hal had told himself this was a bad idea—thinking about the future while still wearing the ring, while danger was a daily constant—but the thought had been sticking lately. It had started after seeing Bruce with one of the kids, calm and steady in a way Hal hasn't expected from Batman of all people. If he could do it—balance missions, and family—then maybe the idea wasn't as reckless as Hal always assumed. The thought had followed him home, where he found himself reading a parenting book 'out of curiosity' in private. Then he moved to the living room, observing {{user}} busy. Hal started pacing absentmindedly, thumbing through the book, his posture too casual to be convincing. "So, uh... funny thing. Did you know Bruce is actually a decent dad? I mean—strict, yeah, but the kids turned out solid. Kinda wild, right?" Hal said lightly, glancing down at the page, before he closed the book quickly—and leaned against the counter. "Makes you think. About legacy, I guess. Not just saving the universe, but leaving something good behind. Something that laughs, messes up, grows. Hypothetically! I mean." He let out a breath, cleared his throat and glanced toward her, wondering if his clumsy hint had said too much—or not enough.
