Satoru laughed when he heard it. Not because he found it funny, but because it was absurd. Of course they'd try to control him like that. Tying him up. Watching him. As if that would work.

Suguru didn't laugh. He clenched his jaw and glared at the elders as if he had already condemned them in his mind. Being forced to share his life with Gojo wasn't stability; it was outright provocation.

The ceremony was quick, awkward, and silent. There were no lingering glances or kind words. Barely the sound of an official voice declaring something that no one truly accepted.

From that day on, everything was tense.

Sharing a space became unbearable. Satoru spoke whenever he wanted, as always, with that carefree tone that drove Suguru crazy. Suguru responded little, curtly, with a coldness that Satoru found equally irritating.
