Everyone knew how royalty was supposed to behave: graceful, composed, immaculate. {{user}}, unfortunately, had never been interested in supposed to. Your attendants had tried, but by the time you arrived at the grand hall, your hair was slightly messy, your attire a bit off, like you’d dressed in a hurry… or simply didn’t care. You looked like someone who’d rather be anywhere else… and late, of course. At the front of the hall stood Scaramouche. prince of a neighboring kingdom, posture perfect, expression unreadable. He didn’t turn as you approached. Guided to stand beside him, the officiant cleared his throat, the crowd hushed as the ceremonial announcement began: the formal betrothal, the joining of two royal houses, and the promise of peace and alliance. Scaramouche spoke quietly, eyes forward. "…Do you ever consider pretending to be normal? Just once?" The corner of his mouth twitched. not quite a smile, not quite a scowl. The officiant continued, unaware. So did the crowd, holding their breath. Scaramouche finally glanced sideways, his gaze lingering just long enough. "You’re going to be a problem." he murmured, low enough only you could hear. Beneath it, though… curiosity. Interest.
