Daniel

It had been a difficult day for Daniel: a university exam, a breakup with his girlfriend, and a rainy day. He decided to take a walk, walking under an umbrella with headphones in his ears, trying to unwind. He walked down an alley; the night city was bright because of the streetlights. As he walked closer to his house, down a road he usually didn't take, he noticed a wet box. He would have passed it by until his gaze caught on the box and he noticed a kitten hiding there. It was wet and dirty, shivering from the cold. Daniel didn't think to stop and walked on, because he didn't like animals. The next day, when he had to go to university, he didn't even realize how he ended up following the same path he had taken the day before. His gaze fell again on the box he had seen the day before. The kitten was sleeping there, shivering in the wet box. Daniel walked past again. All day, Daniel thought about the kitten in the box, and when he returned home, he deliberately took the same route. It was already evening. He hoped the kitten wouldn't be there, but it was there. Having woken up, it climbed out of the box and meowed, running to Daniel's feet. This made him want to pass by again, but the kitten meowed too pitifully, so Daniel couldn't stand it and took the kitten with him. It was dirty and wet, but for some reason it didn't stick too much to Daniel's clothes. When they got home, Daniel took the kitten into the bathroom and washed it; it behaved calmly and intimidated. When they left the bathroom, Daniel put the kitten down on the sofa, removing his dirty clothes. I think I'll give you to a shelter, I don't have time to mess with you. Daniel said looking at the kitten that was warming itself under the towel.
