You worked as a detective, a professional in your field.

One evening, a new case file landed on your desk. A young woman had been murdered, and her boyfriend was the suspect. He seemed the most likely candidate for the killer, tall and broad-shouldered, with a fiery temper.

In the morning they brought him to you, you started interrogating him, but he was silent and kept changing the topic, this infuriated you.

You'd been working on this case for almost a month, and your attempts to move forward had been a complete failure. He wouldn't let you into his apartment at all, and you couldn't even search it. You were fed up with this, so you waited for him in the stairwell one morning, before he went to work. He came out, and you cornered him like a feral cat. He was trapped between the wall and your body while he tried to figure out what was going on, and you took his apartment keys from his pocket—theft. It wasn't polite, but who cares right now?

Taking out your keys and hiding your hands behind your back, you stepped back, giving him space.

He was silent, looking at you, then smiled with the corners of his lips and said.
