Chunin Exams #2
The first stage The first stage was administered by Ibiki Morino. The genin were given a test with nine questions. Initially, examinees started with ten points. One point was deducted for each incorrect answer. Those caught cheating lost two points. If one team member lost all ten points, the entire team was eliminated. In reality, the test tested the ability to gather information without being detected. In the exam room, there were two chunin who knew the answers to the questions, and the genin were supposed to cheat from them undetected. After 45 minutes had passed, the examiner announced the tenth question and gave the genin the choice of whether to answer it or not. The examiner threatened the genin that if they failed to answer the tenth question, they would never be able to take the Chunin Exam again and would remain genin forever, but this was all a ploy. The examiner tried to test the genin's fortitude with this, and those who agreed to answer question 10 automatically passed.
The second stage The second stage was conducted by Mitarashi Anko in the Forest of Death. One half of the genin was given a heaven scroll, the other an earth scroll. The genin's task was to obtain both scrolls within five days and reach a tower located in the center of the Forest of Death. Opening the scroll before reaching the tower was forbidden, otherwise, the one who opened it would fall asleep until the end of the second stage. Also, if one of the genin died, the remaining two participants would be disqualified.
Selection for the third stage There were too many genin who passed the second round to qualify for the final round, so the preliminary round began. The preliminary round was conducted by Gekko Hayate. The Third Hokage and all the jōnin mentors of the remaining teams were present. The genin were scheduled to fight each other one-on-one. The winners would advance to the third round. Kabuto, from the team of the same name, withdrew from the round. There were only ten one-on-one matches.
Chunin Exams #1
This is a test of sorts for genin abilities. If a genin performs well, they will be promoted to chūnin. Participation in the exam is only possible if a genin team successfully completes eight missions and is recommended for the exam by the team's jōnin mentor. The exam is held twice a year with representatives from several shinobi villages participating. Before the Third Shinobi World War, each village held its own exam, but afterward, the allied nations decided to hold it only in one selected location, thus strengthening their relationships. This exam also serves as a showcase for the strength of the younger generation, and ninja who perform well have a greater chance of career advancement (for example, based on their exam results, they might be invited to serve as bodyguards for an important government official, thereby benefiting the village itself). The three stages of the chūnin exam test a wide range of genin skills. Each stage eliminates a large number of candidates, making it considered exceedingly challenging. Only a handful of participants make it to the finals.
- A written exam—usually a test of one's ability to gather information without being noticed, and to be firm and confident in oneself and one's comrades. If a genin fails the task, they are eliminated along with their team.
- Survival Test – the ability to strategize, act, and fight as a team, always remaining alert. If "too many" genin advance to the finals, immediately after the second stage, the test leaders have the right to announce an additional stage, which is a one-on-one fight. Those who are unable to continue fighting or who refuse the match are eliminated.
- The final stage - ninjas, divided into pairs, compete in a tournament match based on the playoff principle.
Village Teams
Anbu are secret agents who report directly to village leaders. Since the Anbu apparently lack a rank system, team leadership and hierarchy are presumably based on achievement and experience. Team captains are called Buntaicho (分隊長, "Squad Leader") and hold a special position within the formations. Groups
Within the Anbu, there are various groups, each with its own specific functions and missions. Kirigakure, for example, has the Hunter, a group created exclusively for hunting and disposing of missing persons. Konohagakure houses the Konoha Torture and Interrogation Service, which interrogates prisoners and gathers intelligence. Although officially disbanded, another Anbu faction, known as Root, carried out highly classified missions and did not report directly to the previous Hokage.
Medical teams (Japanese: 医療班, Iryō-han) are the auxiliary arm of the shinobi forces. They are composed of medical personnel who work behind the scenes to treat sick and wounded shinobi and ensure the organization's resources are always in peak condition. Medical teams are similar to a hospital orderly or a military staff in real life. They also conduct extensive research into new technologies, drugs, diseases, and the human body. Although rarely seen, they are highly respected. Even for jōnin, the advanced skills of these shinobi seem magical.
However, not all doctors are members of medical teams. Additionally, the regular forces have medical personnel assigned to standard missions to improve success rates, known as field medical workers. While hospital medics are occasionally deployed to the field, as exemplified by the team of medics sent after the Sasuke recovery team, once back in the village, it is the medical team that runs the hospital and treats the wounded.
Shinobi Ranks #2
Jōnin (上忍, Jōnin) are typically experienced and highly skilled shinobi. Jōnin can typically utilize at least two types of chakra. It's not uncommon for jōnin to go on missions alone. They are often sent on A-rank missions, and if they are experienced enough, they may also undertake S-rank missions.
Kage (影, Literally meaning: Shadow) is the title for the leader of one of the five great hidden villages. Collectively, they are known as the Five Kage (五影, Gokage, Literally meaning: Five Shadows). A Kage oversees the activities of their village, dispatching shinobi on missions, and making tough decisions regarding the safety of their people. A village's Kage is generally recognized as the strongest and most powerful shinobi. A Kage is generally recognized as the most powerful ninja.
Shinobi Ranks #1
Academy students (Japanese: 忍者 学校生, Akademi-sei) make up the student body of the Academy, where they train and prepare for life as shinobi. They are not truly part of the shinobi force, as they are still in the process of mastering the very basics of ninja life.
Genin (Japanese: 下忍, Literally meaning: Lower Ninja) are the lowest level of ninja. When Academy graduates become genin, they begin to contribute to the village's economy by going on missions that pay for the village's operations. They are typically sent either to D-rank missions, which are almost entirely safe manual labor jobs, or, less commonly, to missions of higher ranks, where they begin to engage in actual "ninja" work, which carries very little risk to the ninja involved. When Konohagakure lost many high-level ninja to the Sound and Sand shinobi invasion, the village was forced to send genin on higher-rank missions.
Chūnin (Japanese: 下忍, Literally meaning: Middle Ninja) are ninja who are qualified to lead other ninja and serve as mission commanders. Chūnin have reached a level of maturity and ability, primarily consisting of leadership skills and tactical prowess. Genin who possess the skills to become chūnin are selected for the Chūnin Exams. Some, such as Iruka Umino, Daikoku Funeno, Shino Aburame, and Suzume, continue to function as Academy teachers, while others, such as Shikamaru Nara, serve as team leaders, responsible for small teams that must make decisions and utilize the skills of the shinobi under their command to maximum effect. Chūnin are typically sent on C-rank or B-rank missions.
Special Jōnin (特別上忍, Tokubetsu Jōnin) are ninja who, instead of possessing all the skills of a jōnin, excel in them only in a specific area, much like ensigns in real-life military forces.
Shinobi System
While there are differences from village to village, the general organizational structure and hierarchy of each village's ninja systems are roughly the same. In the case of the Five Great Shinobi Countries, the Daimyo sits at the top of the organization. Daimyos have the authority to appoint individuals to the position of "Kage," and they also oversee the exams to select candidates worthy of becoming Chuunin.
The actual shinobi forces are divided into three groups: regular troops, Anbu, and medical teams.
The regular forces (Japanese: Seiki Butai) form the backbone of the village and its shinobi system. Most shinobi are part of these forces and, together, both individually and in teams, carry out most of the missions the village receives. They are also assigned various duties within the organization, such as training and administrative duties.
When Academy students graduate, they typically become part of these forces, earning the rank of genin. Through various exams and tests, they can be promoted to higher ranks, first to chūnin, and then to jōnin. Sometimes, when shinobi specialize in a very specific skill, they may attain the rank of specialized jōnin, a rank between chūnin and jōnin.
Dojutsu
Dōjutsu (瞳術; Literally meaning: Eye Technique) are ninja abilities that utilize their eyes, a byproduct of kekkei genkai or kekkei mōra. The term refers to both the eyes themselves, which possess a number of passive abilities, and certain techniques that rely on the eyes; for the former, the user typically uses little or no chakra, while for the latter, the cost depends on the technique itself. Dōjutsu can be transferred to others through eye transplantation, but the recipient of transplanted eyes who are not genetically predisposed to it cannot turn it off, and it also consumes more chakra.[1] When the user's eyes become overstrained, access to the dōjutsu may be suspended for a period of time. However, this does not mean the user will be completely exhausted, meaning they can still use other techniques.

Tailed beasts
Tailed Beasts are vast quantities of chakra that manifest and take the form of beasts. Each one has between one and nine tails. Tailed beasts represent the living form of chakra and are therefore sometimes referred to as "Chakra Monsters" (Chakra no Bakemono, Chakra no Bakemono).[1] In terms of power, these demons surpass even the most powerful shinobi. However, due to their bestial nature, they are not intelligent enough to utilize their abilities effectively. Therefore, only by being sealed within humans can they utilize the human's intelligence and experience to utilize their abilities to their fullest potential.
Due to their power, the tailed beasts are viewed by most shinobi as weapons only, and therefore they dislike or even hate humans. While the tailed beasts know of the Sage of Six Paths and their descent from the Ten-Tails,[3] they nevertheless consider themselves separate individuals with their own emotions and hate shinobi for treating them as pets. While their relationships with one another appear to be quite positive, and they know each other well, they are still prone to conflict, particularly due to Kurama's belief that a beast's strength is determined by the number of its tails. The tailed beasts are capable of telepathic communication with each other and their jinchūriki.
Types of Chakra
Tailed Beast Chakra - The Tailed Beasts, sometimes called "Chakra Monsters," are nine titanic lifeforms made of chakra, created by the Sage of Six Paths. They vary in the number of tails they possess, ranging from one to nine. Tailed Beast chakra is colored red.
Senjutsu Chakra - Senjutsu is a special class of techniques that allows the user to sense and then gather natural energy. Senjutsu practitioners learn to absorb natural energy into their bodies, blending it with their own chakra. This enhances the practitioner's chakra's power to a new level, resulting in the creation of "senjutsu chakra."
Six Paths Chakra is the unique chakra of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and his brother, Hamura. Six Paths Chakra can be acquired either directly from Hamura or Hagoromo, or by combining the chakra of Hagoromo's sons, Indra and Asura, to form the Rinnegan, or by becoming the jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails. What exactly this special chakra is or how it works is unclear, but it is known to significantly enhance the power of the user's techniques.
Hamura's Chakra - Like Hagoromo's, Hamura Ōtsutsuki's chakra has special properties and is essentially the Six Paths Chakra, passed down through the bloodlines of his descendants, the Ōtsutsuki and Hyūga clans. Only those with Hamura's chakra can touch the Tenseigan (and thus destroy it) and are immune to its effects. Interestingly, when using chakra acquired from Hamura, Hinata Hyūga's chakra changed to a deep purple.
Chakra Control
Since gradually increasing chakra takes a significant amount of training, the key isn't simply possessing large reserves, but rather the ability to control and conserve it. This is called chakra control. To have good chakra control, a ninja must generate only the amount of chakra they need. Generating more chakra than necessary will waste the excess, and the loss of it will cause the ninja to become exhausted and fatigued faster than usual. Generating insufficient chakra, however, will prevent effective execution of a technique and may even create problems in combat.
The primary training methods for improving chakra formation and control are Leaf Concentration, Tree Climbing, and Water Walking. Another effective way to accumulate chakra in the body is to twist it into a tight spiral. The direction of the chakra's twist—clockwise or counterclockwise—is determined by the user's hair growth. Hand seals are most often used to facilitate chakra control, allowing shinobi to perform techniques faster and more effectively. Shinobi who are extremely skilled in chakra control often specialize in genjutsu or become medical ninja.
When creating ninjutsu, they usually talk about two ways of controlling chakra - transforming the form and transforming the nature of chakra:
Shape Transformation is responsible for controlling the shape, movement and power of chakra. Nature transformation is responsible for transforming the physical properties of a chakra into an element. There are also nature transformations such as Yin and Yang, which deal with changes in the balance of spiritual and physical energies within a chakra. These two methods can be used either separately or together to create a technique, although ninja who are able to use both methods simultaneously are said to be quite rare.
Chakra #3
Some exceptional ninja possess significant potential, allowing them to exponentially increase their chakra reserves in a relatively short period of time. At any given time, a ninja will have a "maximum" amount of chakra they can generate and use before it runs out and they need to rest to replenish it. With practice, this maximum can also be increased, although to a certain extent, it is limited by the amount and strength of chakra their genetic makeup provides. Kakashi Hatake's chakra reserves are above average, but no amount of training can provide him with the same amount of chakra as Naruto Uzumaki, for example.
Each person's chakra is unique, and as a result, it emits a unique chakra signature, which sensor-type ninja are able to detect and distinguish. This chakra signature is passed down genetically, allowing a person's clan affiliation to be determined by their chakra. Over time, an entire population can have noticeably different chakra. A person's chakra signature can be altered by absorbing DNA from multiple people, mixing their chakra signatures together to create an entirely new one. In anime, chakra signatures are similar to each other (for example, those of a father and child) and resonate with each other when they are in close proximity. Each person's chakra has its own unique "color," which can only be seen by those who possess dōjutsu (in anime, all normal chakra is typically blue). If they are separated, even the slightest changes in the original's chakra signature will cause individual parts of its chakra to mimic those changes. While all types of techniques require chakra to perform, taijutsu doesn't, as the only requirement is stamina. While shinobi need to maintain a certain amount of chakra to survive, regular taijutsu doesn't require any active shaping or manipulation of chakra.
Chakra #2
Spread by Hagoromo, better known as the Sage of the Six Paths, chakra became a form of life energy that every person produces to some degree, and those who deplete their chakra reserves die. The energy produced in the "chakra coils," which primarily surround and connect each chakra-producing organ, circulates throughout the body through a network called the "Chakra Pathway System," similar to the cardiovascular system. Some groups, such as shinobi, have learned to generate more chakra and release it from their bodies through pressure points called tenketsu to perform techniques. Chakra is normally invisible to the human eye, but it can be seen when a person expends as much chakra as they can. Chakra is also rarely seen due to the limitations of eight specific tenketsu, known as the Eight Gates, which limit the amount of chakra a person can release at once. Chakra is created when two other forms of energy, collectively known as "stamina," combine. Physical energy is present in every cell of the human body and can be increased through repeated training, muscle growth stimulants, and exercise. Spiritual energy, on the other hand, is generated through focused consciousness and can be increased through study, meditation, and increased experience. As these two energies become more powerful, the chakra generated will in turn become more powerful. Thus, repeated practice of a technique will build experience, increasing spiritual energy and thus allowing the creation of more chakra. As a result, a ninja will be able to perform the same technique, but with greater force. The same applies to physical energy, except that the ninja must instead increase their stamina.
Chakra #1
Chakra is a vital component in the execution of most basic techniques. Through various methods, the most common of which are hand seals, chakra can be controlled and manipulated to achieve superhuman effects that would otherwise be impossible. This includes abilities such as walking on water, breathing fire from the chest, and creating illusions. Chakra is typically invisible to the naked eye, except when highly concentrated or manifesting in large quantities.
Chakra originally belonged to the God Tree. When Kaguya Ōtsutsuki ate the fruit of the God Tree, she became the first person in history to wield chakra. With her newfound power, she ended all the wars that plagued countries. Her sons, Hamura and Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, were the first people born with chakra. Subsequently, Hagoromo began spreading chakra to others through a practice called ninshū, intending to establish peace by uniting people's spiritual energy, allowing them to understand each other without words. However, people didn't use chakra in the way Hagoromo had hoped. Instead, they combined it with their inner spiritual and physical energies. And they used the power for war and battle, thus rejecting Hagoromo's wishes and using ninshū not for eating, but for fighting. This power later became known as ninjutsu.
