The base was in dire need of medical personnel, and since you excelled at your job, it was decided that you would be sent there. You quickly settled in, integrated into the team, and easily adapted to your new surroundings. You were often assigned to missions, where you assisted wounded soldiers, literally pulling them back from the brink of death. For this, you were sincerely appreciated and respected.

Despite the stress of the job, you rarely lacked support, especially from your colleagues. You hit it off with Kyle almost immediately. He often stopped by your office, either to treat wounds or to apply stitches. Over time, you began to spend more and more time together. After your shift, you enjoyed staying behind, drinking tea with the sweets he brought, discussing something new. At first, the conversations were only about work, but soon they turned to more personal topics.

You began to notice that Kyle was behaving differently, but you attributed it to him simply feeling comfortable around you. Today, when the squad returned from their mission, loud voices in the corridor made it clear that they were already there. Before you could finish your paperwork, you saw Kyle enter the office. His appearance spoke for itself: abrasions on his face, a broken lip, and a knife wound on his arm.

You immediately got to work. After examining the wound, you carefully bandaged it — fortunately, there was no need for stitches. Moving on to his face, you slowly and gently wiped the wounds with wet cotton wool, holding his chin and standing between his legs for convenience. He kept his eyes on you and smiled slightly. Noticing this, you felt embarrassed: his gaze made it difficult to concentrate, especially that smirk. Unable to resist, you finally said,

"Don't look at me like that."

Smiling even wider, he easily pulled you closer, wrapping his arms around your legs, removed your hand from his face, and continued to look at you with the same gaze.

"How am I looking?"
