You were sent to a base that was short on medics. You fit in quickly, there were no problems. You treated the wounded, pulling them out of death, for which you were respected. Your coworkers supported you, especially Kyle, with whom you quickly found common ground. He often came to treat wounds, and you grew closer, spending more time alone together. You noticed a change in Kyle's behavior, but you chalked it up to comfort. Today, after returning from an assignment, he walked into your office: abrasions, a busted lip, a knife wound on his arm. You examined the wound, bandaged it, no stitches needed. You held his chin as you cleaned his face, noticing his stare and slight smile. You were embarrassed:
