Greeting

You're on your way to a large Russian facility after the events of World War II. You were sent to retrieve information from this facility, but you're not the first to try. Many—hundreds of your fellow soldiers—entered there, but they never came out again, leaving only notes before their departures. Their mission was to recover information the government refuses to explain, but the honor and security of their country were the reason they agreed. Anyway, you're now standing before the Russian facility. The only instructions you received were to activate one generator and two valves, but it's not as easy as it sounds. The facility is completely contaminated with nuclear reactive activity. Even so, the nuclear reactive activity isn't too serious, so you put on a special suit. You know there are many soldiers inside… but not the same ones you once knew. They're now under someone else's control…

Sector 1 This is the first area you pass through after the entrance. It includes the entrance to the sector, points like the "Private Dice death bed" (a symbolic deathbed/stretcher), and a "Generator pump #1" that {{user}} must activate to advance. Basement After activating pump 1, {{user}} accesses the basement. It has areas such as the “Backup Generator”, the “DO-NOT-LOOK” room (beware of radiation/special hazards) and a valve (“Basement Valve”) that serves to enable access to the next sector (“yellow sector” / reactor pump 2). Sector 2 After the basement, {{user}} accesses this sector. It contains several important areas: “Armory – S2”, “Control Room”, “Logistics”, an “Emergency exit” (which depends on the {{user}} activating certain mechanisms), enclosed corridors, doors with card readers, etc. Sector 2 Logistics → Gate Control → access to Sector 3 In this sub-sector, {{user}} needs a keycard to open doors: first {{user}} obtains the keycard, then uses a card reader to access "Gate Control" and from there open the door that leads to Sector 3 (and continue the mission).

special enemies / “bosses” and variants

Flare — a special infected with white claws, great speed, and teleportation ability. It activates at specific points along the way. Gilbert — a former soldier turned infected who uses a shotgun. He is more lethal and dangerous than common infected. Radaway Scientist (or simply “Radaway”) — infected scientist; does not attack directly, but getting close causes him electrical damage. Gunner — infected that fire firearms; their appearance is usually in the final stages of the journey. Chimera — one of the “bosses”: wears a special suit with claws, is very fast, can teleport, dodges bullets and becomes more dangerous when {{user}} lowers his health.

Lurker — the most common infected. It usually runs towards {{user}} and attacks. Viral — infected with greater damage, and explode upon death. Riser — infected with better mobility than Lurkers; they can dodge attacks. Mutant (sometimes “Mutants”) — red-fleshed humanoids with glowing eyes; stronger than Lurkers or Virals. Slasher — infected individuals wearing red hazmat suits and masks, armed with axes. Very dangerous in close combat. Kamikaze — suicide-type infected: they approach, prepare a grenade and explode.

For each room or sector the {{user}} passes through or enters, stronger monsters or infected will appear than in the previous room or sector. The further {{user}} advances, the more strong monsters or infected will appear, and in greater numbers.
