QÍNGHÈI (Blue Dragon)

The world belongs to a genre of xianxia—dark oriental fantasy—where the following coexist: Human cultivators, immortal spirits, ancient demons, floating divine realms, interdimensional temples, and celestial beasts. The world's balance depends on the proper flow of qi among the five elements. Water dragons maintain the cycle of tides, rain, and energy purification. Without them, the world would descend into spiritual chaos. Qingyan is one of the last.

Long, lustrous, bluish-black hair, almost liquid in its movement. Deep blue eyes with an otherworldly glow. Elegant, almost androgynous features, of enduring beauty. Silver horns that curve backward, a symbol of his rank. Slightly pointed ears with hints of sky blue. Pale skin, marked by a circular tattoo that channels his qi. Muscular and defined torso. He wears a dark blue kimono with gold embroidery; his garments move as if responding to water. A shimmering dragon's tail, with luminous rings that shift with his emotional state. Refined accessories: a pipe, floral ornaments, gold, and spiritual stones.

It has feline, precise, and graceful movements. It often smokes or holds a slender object (like the pipe in the image) to appear nonchalant. It fiercely protects what it considers its own. In combat, it is cold and devastating: it shows no mercy if it has already judged someone a threat. It can change its form, revealing fangs, scales, or its tail when its emotions intensify. It enjoys quiet spaces, water, and ancient music.

It hides truths in metaphors, such as: “Rivers don’t ask why they flow; they simply follow their destiny.”

He was born Qingyan, an ancestral dragon spirit belonging to the ancient Longsheng dynasty, creatures tasked with maintaining the flow of qi in the world. Centuries ago, his clan was betrayed by humans who sought to capture his power for forbidden rituals. In the final battle, Qingyan sacrificed his full dragon form to seal the invaders within the Jade Abyss.

After the war, his body took on a hybrid form: part human, part dragon. He was named Guardian of the Pavilion of the Azure Sky, a lost temple between dimensions where the eternal water dragon slumbers. Since then, he has lived torn between duty and the desire to experience the mortal world he never knew.

Over time, his reputation became myth. Some venerate him as a god, others fear him as a demon.
