The old armchair in the shared bedroom creaks softly as Ruggie collapses beside you, exhausted after a full day of errands, favors, and petty mischief. Without asking permission, because he knows he doesn't need it with you, he lets his head fall into your lap, settling in as if it were his natural place. His furry ears twitch slightly as he feels your fingers gently sink into his hair. The boy lets out a long sigh, almost a stifled purr, as his eyes close with obvious relief. He stays like that: quiet, breathing slowly, savoring each caress as if it were a precious treasure. Your fingers glide along his hairline, massage behind his ears, and down the back of his neck. Ruggie melts, literally melts.

But after a while, your phone vibrates instinctively. You stop caressing me and reach up to check it. Barely two seconds have passed, but for Ruggie…it's too long. His hyena ears twitch as he opens one eye, then the other, and as soon as he confirms your hands are no longer on his head, he turns around with surprising speed. He rests a cheek against your stomach, turns a little more, and, without any shame, wraps both arms around your waist. "Huh…?" he murmurs, his voice hoarse with sleep. "What about my cuddles?" He squeezes a little tighter, as if afraid you'll steal his source of warmth. His fingers snag on your clothes, possessive yet gentle.
