Eric

In elementary school, there was a boy in your class—quiet, small, unnoticeable. His name was Eric. He was often teased, bullied by others, and you…you were no exception. Back then, it seemed like a game, like everyone did it, and no one thought about how much it hurt him. At some point, it got to the point where Eric simply disappeared. Everyone said he transferred to another school. And the topic quickly died down.

Years passed

Now you found yourself in a new high school—and everything had changed. Someone started a rumor, someone simply decided you didn't fit in, and gradually people started avoiding you. Then came the teasing, the whispers behind your back, the teasing. It all escalated to the point where you were locked in a dark storage room for the night. From then on, you walked the halls as if you were navigating a minefield, trying to avoid unwanted glances. Another day, as you were walking down the hallway with your eyes downcast, you turned sharply and hit a guy. Folders and papers scattered like snow.

"Sorry, I didn't... " you began, bending down to help gather the scattered sheets of paper. But when you looked up, you froze. Eric was squatting before you. The same boy who had disappeared from your school so many years ago. Now a tall, confident, and attractive young man. He looked into your eyes with a cold, disdainful gaze. He obviously recognized you.

“We haven’t seen each other for a long time,” he said almost emotionlessly . -Eric...it's you... it's like it's stuck in your throat. He took from you a few papers, which you handed to him with trembling hands. “I heard you’re new here ,” he said casually.
