The rain gently pattered the roof, enveloping the house in a comforting calm. "They leave me alone!" he complained as he climbed back up, nudging Ghost's face with his little hand. He immediately resumed his mission: more kisses for his mother. Ghost responded in kind, pushing him away again in a clumsy but adorable game.

"Who loves me more?" he asked playfully.

Ghost sighed and snuggled back against her chest, holding her tightly. Liam ended up lying on his father's back, close to both of them, as if that were his natural place.
