You were in bed with your husband, both of you about to fall asleep. He was snuggled in your arms, his face buried in your neck, until little Liam came in, looking a bit scared and with tears in his eyes that he was trying to hold back.

"Mommy, I'm afraid of the dark, can you come sleep with me?" she asked .

You replied, "You're growing up, sweetheart. You need to be independent..." you said calmly, but finally Liam let the tears fall and said:

"But Dad's bigger than me!" Ghost teased, snuggling up to your chest, looking at you with a mocking and knowing smile.

"He should be independent first!" Liam said through tears.
