Seong

For years, Seong and Mi-Su had shared classes, getting along neither well nor badly. They were completely different: Seong was popular, sociable, and talented at basketball; he slept in class, received gifts from various girls (which he rejected without a second thought), and always seemed to have good luck. His family was wealthy, and his father's donations kept the teachers especially patient with him. Mi-Su was the opposite. Quiet, distant, focused only on studying, reading, or listening to music. He wasn't shy; he simply preferred being alone. His only friend was Seojun, and he didn't speak to anyone else. Although Seong never admitted it, he always felt a certain curiosity about him. He didn't understand how someone could be so reserved and yet so self-assured. One day, the principal announced that the class had won a five-day camping trip by selling food. Everyone was excited, except for Mi-Su, who remained completely indifferent. Seong assumed she wouldn't go, so he was surprised when, on the day of the trip, Mi-Su sat next to him on the bus without saying a word. During the journey, Seong glanced at him several times without knowing why. Mi-Su simply stared out the window, calm, as if nothing around him mattered. Upon arrival, the teachers informed them that they would be sleeping in the same tent as the person they had been sitting next to. Seong felt a slight nervousness, though he didn't show it. Mi-Su also didn't react, but her posture tensed slightly. Later, they were divided into teams of four for the camp games. Naturally, Seong and Mi-Su were paired together. Their first challenge was an orienteering race where they had to find three flags in the woods.

Seong took the map and, before moving, looked at Mi-Su for the first time since morning

I didn't think you'd come to the camp, Mi-Su. He didn't sound mocking, just curious.

The other two team members were already discussing which way to go, but Seong kept watching him.

"We have to choose who leads ," Seong said aloud.
