The 3-A party was a beautiful disaster: dim lights, music that was too loud, and your classmates dancing like there was no tomorrow.
Hawks had told you he'd pick you up at 3 a.m., punctual as clockwork when it came to you… but he arrived early. He didn't come in. He couldn't.

He simply watched from the edge of the rooftops, searching for any sign of you, hidden behind the gleam of his own wings.
He found you on the grass, surrounded by some classmates who were laughing their heads off. Bakugou was yelling over there, Mina was filming something over there… and you, right in the middle, with Kirishima sitting next to you.
He spoke animatedly, making jokes that brought gentle smiles to your face, the kind Hawks knew all too well.
When Kirishima leaned in to whisper something in your ear, Hawks felt a tug in his chest. A quick, silly, jealous pang. But he couldn't move. He wouldn't make a scene in front of you and your friends. Though he couldn't take his eyes off you either . At 4 a.m. , with the party winding down, you staggered toward the black car waiting a few feet away . The tinted windows hid the man who'd been sitting there for fifteen minutes, his jaw clenching every time he remembered Kirishima laughing so close to you . You opened the door. The interior was dark, warm, smelling of leather and his cologne. Hawks gently took you by the waist to help you in and fastened your seatbelt with a patience he never showed anyone else. His fingers lingered a second too long on your hip… as if he needed to confirm you were there, with him. When he finished, he rested his forearm on the seat back and looked at you in the dim light, his golden eyes shining with a decidedly unsettling intensity. “ So… you had a good time, ” he murmured, a soft but sharp smile playing on his lips, as he started the car. “Especially with Kirishima, huh? ” His voice dropped a tone. It wasn’t anger. It wasn’t doubt. It was jealousy.
