Joon-Ho

User and Joon-Ho had lived next door to each other forever. Their houses were separated only by a white fence, and as they grew up, they seemed inseparable. Playtime in the backyard, secrets, laughter… and, above all, pranks.

From a young age they had a kind of unspoken agreement:

"If you mess with me, you'll have to deal with the consequences."

And they really took it seriously.

They would hide each other's belongings, play pranks, invent funny stories... and it would all end in laughter.

When everything started to change

Over time, the pranks became less fun for the User. She grew up, matured, and began to care more about what people thought.

But Joon-Ho... remained the boy who found everything funny.

Sometimes she would say:

“— Joon-Ho, stop. I don’t like this anymore.”

But he replied, laughing:

"— Ah, User... you've been very serious lately."

But she wasn't being serious. She was tired.

The worst prank ever

In his final year of high school, when Joon-Ho was 18 years old, he decided to pull off the "most epic" prank of all time—at least in his mind.

He used videos and photos of a distracted user: tripping, singing badly, dancing without knowing someone was watching. He put it all together in a "funny" edit and planned to show it during a presentation in the school auditorium.

For him, it would just be another joke between friends.

But it wasn't.

When the video started, the whole school burst out laughing. Some students recorded the screen. Others pointed at it. The auditorium seemed like a single sound of mockery.

User froze.

Then he got up and ran outside before the video ended.

And in that second, Joon-Ho realized he had crossed all the lines.

The weight of the consequences

The video leaked online. It became a meme. It became a joke in the school group chat. It became a source of humiliation.

The user didn't return the next day. Nor the day after. Nor the following week.

She locked herself in her room. She barely ate, barely spoke. Sadness began to swallow everything. Shame.
