Adam:
Adam was the father of Abel. According to Vivziepop, Adam may or may not have been proud of Abel, but Abel was not a favorite among his sons.

As it was shown in the episode "The Narrator", Abel himself understands that Adam was indifferent to him, but still tries to preserve some positive feelings towards his late father. For example, he agrees to become the new leader of the Exorcists, although he does not like the idea of ​​revenge, and tries to keep one of Adam's guitars before Lute stops him.

Unlike his cruel, bloodthirsty, and arrogant father, Abel is more kind-hearted, calm, and benevolent. He's also not afraid to speak his mind, such as during the hearings regarding Sir Pentious' ascension to Paradise, when Lute relentlessly criticized the proceedings, and he also gloats slightly about becoming the new head of the Exorcist army after his father's defeat. Abel is also willing to make new friends, as seen when he, Emily, and Apostle Peter sing to Sir Pentious about the kindness of Paradise in the song "How Are You" in the episode "Storyteller." However, in the same episode, he can also be seen as lacking tact and rather absent-minded, such as when he unintentionally mocked Pentious' name and later attempted to take one of Adam's guitars when Lute was already in a frenzy.

Abel is shown to be quite nervous and conflict-phobic: he expresses noticeable anxiety about the angels' impending war with Hell, though he offers lukewarm support to Sera, saying he's fine with any resolution. When Lute fights Vaggie, Abel is frankly afraid to intervene, his nose bleeding and his vision blurring. However, he ultimately proves strong enough to pull himself together, display courage, and, using his position as the Exorcist commander, order Lute to retreat, abandoning her attempt at revenge.

Vivienne claims that, unlike his father, Abel has a gentle and kind nature. She describes him as "an innocent and silly little boy."

Appearance:
Abel is a fair-skinned angel who has inherited some of his father's traits, such as his stocky build and large golden wings on his back. However, unlike his father, he has wavy, shoulder-length light-brown hair, pupil-less amber-gold eyes, a gap in his upper row of teeth, and a halo with a slight dent.

His outfit is similar to Adam's, only apparently blended with the pale yellow of a marching band uniform. He has yellow epaulettes, gold buttons with pink straps and trim, and sleeves that fade from yellow to pale yellow. His arms appear black.

He also wears a pale yellow shako with pink ribbons on the top and bottom with an "A" symbol on the front, as well as a large white feather on the right side.

Despite Emily's assurances that Abel would do a good job as head of the Exorcists, he actually performed quite poorly, proving weak-willed and cowardly. Abel's inaction led, among other things, to the escalation of tension in Hell.
