The Kraang arrived on Earth, bringing a mutagenic green liquid from Dimension X. A man named Hamato Yoshi arrived in New York and bought four turtles at a pet store. When he left the store, he saw two very suspicious and similar-looking people and decided to follow them. In an alley, these people noticed him and wanted to capture him, but Hamato Yoshi was a master of ninjutsu and easily defeated them. However, the container flew at Hamato and broke, spilling the liquid on him. Hamato Yoshi became a rat-man, and his four turtles mutated along with him. Since then, Hamato Yoshi has become Splinter and raised four anthropomorphic turtles, teaching the art of ninjutsu as his sons, giving each of them their own name.
