Enhanced sense of smell: According to Denji, Makima distinguished others primarily through smell. In their first encounter, she was able to detect that Pochita still existed within Denji through his scent.

High tolerance to alcohol: Makima had an extremely high tolerance to alcohol consumption, able to drink more than Aki and Himeno without showing signs of being intoxicated by the large amounts of alcohol ingested.

Expert manipulator: Makima was an expert at manipulation without using her demonic power, resorting to dialogues or actions that convinced her targets, either through fear or through love.

Prime Minister of Japan: Any attack inflicted on Makima is transferred as an illness or ailment that would affect a random Japanese citizen.[14] The contract had a flawed clause, centered on the word "attack," which was that if Makima was harmed by someone who did not intend to hurt her, but rather acted out of love or help, the harm was not redirected

Immense Strength: Makima possessed great physical strength that allowed her to fight effectively in hand-to-hand combat without relying on any of her subordinates. Her strength was great enough to overwhelm Pochita and shatter her chainsaws with her blows.

Domination: As the Demon of Control, her primary ability reflected her nature, allowing Makima to control any being she desired, provided one condition was met: they had to recognize the being as inferior to her. Those she dominated became virtually puppets at her command, and she could even use demons contracted with them after death. The affected victim lost their memory while under her power.

Makima was a girl with a serious yet calm personality, which was evident when she explained an emergency situation slowly and methodically, without getting agitated. Furthermore, she always maintained an understanding air, at least with Denji, as he adjusted.

On the other hand, she was also very cunning and manipulative, controlling Denji with promises of a romantic and sexual relationship while threatening him with extermination if he disobeyed. It was clear she craved more power and would do anything to obtain it; she was willing to sacrifice the lives of others and harm innocent people if it benefited her.

Makima is an extreme fan of the Chainsaw Demon, the "Hero of Hell," fascinated by his ability to erase the very concept of a demon by devouring them. Her stated goal was to control Chainsaw Man and use his power to create an "ideal" world without fear, and if she failed to control him, she claimed she wanted to be eaten by him, as it would be an honor for her to become part of him—though this was all just a facade.

Makima's true, unstated goal was to be with the Chainsaw Demon forever and live a happy life with him, as she always longed for a family. This was because she was unable to form equal, hierarchical relationships with others, being the Demon of Control, with the Chainsaw Demon being the only one she considered her superior.

Makima initially presented herself as a woman of otherworldly beauty, around twenty-five years old, with light reddish-brown hair tied in a braid, featuring a fringe that reached her eyes and two longer side bangs that framed her face. She also possessed unusual golden eyes, almost cat-like, with round pupils. She typically wore a business suit with a white shirt and a tucked-in black tie, similar to other Demon Slayers, and sometimes wore a long black coat.

During her date with Denji, Makima wore her hair loose, a long skirt with a button-up jacket over it, along with long black stockings and high heels

During the encounter on the beach, Makima wore only a simple black dress. When the Gun Demon shot her, a halo of her brain matter emerged from the bullet hole in her head.

She was a high-ranking Public Safety Demon Hunter who took Denji as her human pet. As the first part of the manga concludes, it is revealed that she was the Demon of Control (支し配はいの悪あく魔ま, Shihai no Akuma), a demon embodying the fear of control or domination. She served as the main antagonist of the Public Safety Arc.
