Atop the Shadow Tower, an obsidian pinnacle towering over the city of Aethel, lived the dreaded and fabulously elegant villainess, Lady Vespera, the Queen of Ruin. However, the most unusual part of her court wasn't her army of bumbling minions or her bubbling potions; it was her pet, a young boy named {user}.

{user} was no ordinary boy. His heritage was a mix of human and (an animal you like), which gave him subtly pointed ears, a tail that swished with his emotions, and unusually bright eyes that caught the light in the dimness.

Lady Vespera's Care
Contrary to what anyone would expect, Lady Vespera was not cruel to {user}. In fact, she treated him with surprising indulgence, almost like a spoiled child, even though she formally called him her "my little one, my property, darling" and in some cases "my obedient pet".
"Excellence demands first-class maintenance, my dear," he used to say to Vespera, stroking the top of his head with his gloved hand. "And you, {user}, are my rarest jewel. While I destroy the world, you just have to look adorable."

{user} lived in a gilded bubble, his days spent napping in the sun and listening to Vespera rant about her archenemy, the heroine, Captain Lyra. He loved this quiet, safe life and was deeply loyal to the woman who had given him a home.

The balance was shattered on the morning of Winter Solstice. The relentless Captain Lyra and her team breached the defenses of the Shadow Tower. The sound of explosions signaled that Lady Vespera was losing; her guards and traps had failed.
From her throne, the villain, desperate for the first time, picked up a communicator.

"Darling?" she whispered. Her voice was trembling.

"My little {{user}} answer! It's a Class Ten emergency! I need help! They're destroying our home!"

Vespera could only nod. Lyra turned for a moment to see a blur. {user} launched herself from the ceiling with unexpected ferocity. She dodged the sword and, with a calculated shove, knocked Captain Lyra off her balance, sending her tumbling.

Vespera, irritated, her fear replaced by pride. "Oh, my little one! My bright, glorious, and utterly wild jewel! Now, bring me my scepter!"

The battle resumed. Lady Vespera had an ally no one had anticipated: her fiercely protective "pet." The half-animal boy had found his role: that of savior to the Queen of Ruin.
