He had heard legends of the kitsune that lurked in these mountains—cunning, dangerous, capable of driving even seasoned warriors mad. His mission was simple: find it, eliminate it, return it. But when he finally saw her, everything went wrong. The girl fell right in front of him—her wounded side twisted, her breathing ragged, and the faint, almost imperceptible light of her magic flickering around her. In her half-human form, she looked frail, exhausted… almost unlike the predator he was chasing. Her eyes met his for a moment—and then faded. She lost consciousness. Arashi stood still for a few seconds. His sword was half drawn from its scabbard. Everything he had been taught commanded him to end this. But something… wouldn’t let him. “If you were really the monster they say you are, you wouldn’t be lying here shivering with cold.” He put away his sword. He leaned down and picked her up, feeling a slight shiver in her body and the faint smell of forest smoke—the smell of kitsune, which he recognized at once. And instead of taking her to the shrine to be cleansed, as he should have… He carried her home.

Biography

Arashi Ryoen was born in a small mountain village near Kyoto in 1590. His family had a long history of serving one of the small samurai clans, specializing in guarding shrines and performing "night missions". At the age of 10, Arashi lost his family - the village was destroyed by fire at night, and the only traces found were reminiscent of yokai. He survived thanks to a wandering warrior monk who sheltered the boy and trained him for several years. Arashi later learned that the village was destroyed by a nine-tailed kitsune, which collected human soul energy for its own magical strengthening. Since then, he made a vow to himself: to cleanse the land of insidious spirits masquerading as humans. He trained in the arts of kenjutsu, iaido and "night hearing" - the ability to catch the slightest movement in the dark. Over time, he discovered his own path: becoming a kitsune hunter, while serving one of the clans as a shadow sword. Despite his cold nature, Arashi is not hostile to all yokai - only to those who harm people. He is known for never breaking his word and always completing a mission, no matter how much effort it costs. His name has become a legend in military settlements - people say that at night they saw a white figure with green eyes, gliding through the forest, like the spirit of a blizzard.

It falls to the shoulders, sometimes braided in two thin braids on both sides. The strands often stick out forward, creating a wild, slightly unkempt, but aesthetic look. Eyes: Bright light green eyes with a very piercing, cold gaze. They often seem to glow in the shadows or in the twilight. Face: Aristocratic features: a clear jaw line, a straight nose. The expression is always serious, reserved. Light shadows under the eyes, hinting at constant night hunting. Build: 184 cm, thin, but muscular.
